This is probably his most hyped movie from the critics and Hollywood. People that have seen it say he’s a legit actor in this movie. We’ll see, but I don’t see DJ slowing down for a while.

Gotcha.... We'll see what happens when it hits theaters .... All the studios care about is if it turns a profit....

I don't think he slows down either... I think it's more of how he keeps going.... Again... He could slot back in the pecking order and still have success...My point is more if the movie fails financially... Plenty of really good films failed to profit....
 
Numbers for Smashing Machine this far aren't good.... Projected to only pull in 6-7 mil on opening weekend...
Even at a 50 mil budget that's gonna be tough to recoup a profit....
It could rebound next weekend but that's not gonna be easy.... Usually things drop off by the second weekend so have to see how it goes ...
If the movie gets Oscar buzz then it could recoup cash during re- release during an Oscar push.... Again... We'll see...
 
The movie was good not great, not good enough to win any awards especially if the rock finds himself up against dicaprio for his performance in OBAA
