Dumb Question- Why in the **** do we have our best player practicing Full Speed.

We don’t. I don’t buy this story about Mali getting hurt in practice Wednesday. Offensive starters play the defensive scouts who don’t even tackle the offensive players. Yes, you might have defensive 1’s vs offensive 1’s at times but nobody is tacking to the ground. It’s why players don’t typically get hurt in practice.

I think Mali has been battling the ankle injury and decided to have the surgery now rather than later. Probably waited last minute to make the call. We don’t need to win this game.
It’s been reported that Waters landed on his ankle during practice.

Look man we're all broken up about MT getting hurt but injuries are an unfortunate part of sports. Also, Toney's elite practice habits are part of what make him so special, you can't have one without the other.
The all-time greats only know how to perform at one speed, full speed.

Because none of our Smart folks on this website has asked it. Just in a way being sarcastic.
When you do things the way you always done, you can expect to get the same results or worse.
It wasn't even a contact injury. From all the reports, he jumped up for a ball and rolled it when he landed.

It could have easily happened walking to class and stepping off an elevated surface and rolling it.

You're right you asked a dumb question

You can’t have it both ways. You can’t cheer when our team was the most physical in the playoff last year than this year say why are we practicing so hard lol.
100 percent. Establishing a tough, gritty, team-first culture requires everyone to practice hard. No exceptions, no favoritism. That culture is a big reason for our recent success. There may be tradeoffs, like the Toney injury, but no individual player is more important than maintaining the culture that got us here.

As a testament to what I’m saying, just wait and see how Toney’s practices will change drastically when he comes back fully healed, way too late and probly after a lost championship opportunity.

The best football coaches in the NFL treat their best players differently, including practices. Bill Parcells was one of them. Does-#56 ring a bell??
