Duke Williams for Heisman

I love that after every carry the PA announcer would say "Duke Johnson" but ****** Pollack kept saying "Duke Williams".

Him and Palmer are on another level of dumb.

Duke Johnson is now #2 in yards from scrimmage, behind only the Indiana running back. A showcase game against FSU and he absolutely has a shot at the heisman.

**** Palmer and Pollack. They should both be fired. Blatant racism using a random black last name like that in place of his real last name. Somebody please call Al Sharpton.

Not racist. Just SECist. Which might be just as bad

Saying he's 3rd right now, before any other team has played this week, and while we still have another bye, doesn't mean anything.

If he's invited, it will be the receiving yards that make the difference. None of the other top backs have much. Should get 200+ total yards against UNC. Then it's all down to how he looks against FSU.

I'm not saying he has no chance of Heisman. I just mean that that statistic doesn't actually hold any weight until everyone else plays their game this week.

To be fair, his yards per carry is nearly the same as the two. He only has 7 more carries than Gordon, and 4 more than Coleman. He just doesn't get the same number of carries per game. That will hurt him in the long run though I'm sure.

As was said, a big game against FSU gets him in the Heisman race. Not there yet.

UPDATE: http://espn.go.com/college-football.../rushing/sort/rushingYards/year/2014/group/80
Duke's now #8 in country with 1,036 yards on 139 attempts (7.5 YPA).
As far as possible Heisman contenders or any RB awards go, his competitors are:
(Yards, YPA, TD's)
1. Gordon (1168, 7.6, 16)
2. T Coleman (1192, 8.8, 11)
3. Abdullah (1249, 6.9, 17)
But, What they do in the national spotlight is very important, as you know. Melvin Gordon becomes the player to beat, because against LSU he had (140, 8.8, 1). Against Michigan St, Coleman had (132, 8.8, 0). Also against Michigan St, Abdullah had (45, 1.9, 2). The rest of the games these guys played were against decent-bad competition. The biggest reason Duke might not win an award would be because he doesn't get many TD's, But this game was better than any of the other 3 have had while in primetime. If he can do it against FSU, he has a solid shot at a RB award. Mariota deserves heisman.

Yeah, If Mississippi St isn't #1, Dak Prescott isnt the top heisman contender on all these ESPN analysts watch list. Mariota has done everything to earn it. He threw his 1st interception OF THE ENTIRE SEASON last week in the game he threw 5 TD's! Mariota just produces, and always has, except he doesn't make mistakes either. Also Winston should be completely out of Heisman talk, because in the award for Heisman, character is one of the traits that the voters are supposed to take into consideration.

So they got him mixed up with Gus Williams a few times. Big f'n deal.
