Duke Johnson To The NFL

Would a change in coach like a Butch Davis change his mind in staying.

Without a doubt it would give him something to think about. However, Butch would tell him to go get paid unless there are obvious areas in his game that need improvement.

Butch would tell him whatever is best for Butch just like he did with Ed Reed and McKinnie.

That's funny.................being that he left before their final year.

He told Edge to Leave........................AFTER A SIGNATURE GAME.

Take a pill and remove the caps lock from your computer.

What is a signature game? Kid has been the focal point of the offense for 3 years, he had over 170 yds and a TD against FSU, but because he was cramping that doesn't count as a big game?

Kid has been the heart and sole of this offense and people are going to bash him, give me a break.

Anyone who bashes Duke is a complete loser. He has given his blood, sweat and tears to this team. If were not for him this team would be averaging 4 wins a season. If he were at any top 10 team he would be a Hiesman finalist.

It's not bashing him. Just pointing out the obvious.

No one said he is not talented. Plus, he is mediocre team Killer. News Flash: Most players give their blood, sweat and tears to the team. Some are better than others.

Duke has no Signature Games. He has Signature Fumbles. Truth!!!!!!!

Started telling teammates and CornBreath today.

For his part, Kaaya doesn't seem to think he'll have Johnson to hand the ball to next season.

"Duke is a last-year guy," Kaaya said.

A roadblock might be Johnson's desire to spend another season with quarterback Brad Kaaya, who has had a recordsetting freshman year for Miami.

"The kid's coming along well," Johnson said. "I'm anxious to see what he'll do."

Another potential roadblock is that Johnson's mother has made it clear, many times, that she wants her son to get his degree from Miami regardless of his NFL plans. Leaving early would not preclude Johnson from satisfying that request; for the last several years, Miami has offered programs where athletes who leave early to pursue pro careers are welcomed back to the university to complete their undergraduate degree.

But the degree is Cassandra Prophet-Mitchell's top wish.

"That's the deal breaker," said Johnson, adding that his mother will get a "60-40" majority of their final vote when it's time to decide what happens next season.

Johnson said Monday that he and his mother have not made any decisions about his status for the 2015 NFL draft, though many around — and even within — the program are expecting that the running back will skip his senior season with the Hurricanes and turn pro.

Yet Johnson admits, "I don't think there's much more I need to prove on the field, if anything," Johnson said. "Not saying there's not any room to get better. There's always room to get better in aspects of the game. But as far as, I guess, stats and things of that sort, there's not much more I need to prove."

Wow. For someone who is such a competitor I'm reading that as Duke saying he won't be able to prove anything more. He doesn't have a single title to his name during his 3 years here. You think he doesn't want that? He does but I think he has lost all faith in the coaches and the program to actually help him get a title. He's an amazing running back but he can only carry a 22-man team so far

Lol even if we got new coaches we wouldnt be winning a title next year. He doesn't need do anything more stat wise here and being a rb his career is only a couple years before they begin their decline. Make that money when u can.

This guys thinks that James left because he blew up in the UCLA game. Ron Dayne ran all over UCLA in the Rose Bowl. Their defense was awful. James had size, speed, and burst that landed him as the 4th pick in the draft. As soon as Solly got him to stop dancing in the hole it was clear he was going to be an absolutely stud.

Johnson will be a terrific pro. He's the best receiver coming out of the backfield we've ever had and in today's NFL that matters alot.

Don't enter an adult conversation with your infantile blathering and 10th screen name.

Study some history, you rusty nail. Butch talked both of those guys into staying and then bolted shortly after.

If you hate on Duke then you suck ****. Most Slurppers suck off AG' so makes sense

What sucks for Duke is he's entering the draft with the most draft eligible talent at RB i've seen in years.....Gurley, Gordon, Abdullah, Yeldon, and Tevin Coleman. That is a stacked class.

yeldon meh. gordon is good but is wisky still running their guys into the ground like beliema did? gurley is the best imo but he's coming off an ACL injury now.

Duke is Overrated.....Mediocre team killer.

Dalvin Cook is true freshman and he has more signature games than Duke.

Dukes not overrated. A coincidence is javvaris james breaking a freshman running record. But outrun edge, Portis, gore, mcgahee, jackson, bratton, highsmith, ferguson...****** everybody... Over a career... That's just greatness.
