Best pass blocking back we've had here in my lifetime..so many examples over the years but he took a lot of linebackers head on Saturday and I haven't seen one word about it. Lots of big Kaaya plays don't happen without Duke blowing somebody up.

Cue the gif of him flipping Fowler and all hail the best player we've had in years. O-line, you're taking money out of my boys pocket, you need to get right.

Duke's a pretty willing pass blocker. The best I saw here was McGahee, though. He tried to end people's careers and he was as big as a lot of college linebackers.
 
I have seen replays of 1984 Orange Bowl vs. Nebraska. If that game is indicative of his entire career at UM (I was only 3 yrs old at the time), the correct answer to this question is Albert Bentley.

Some idiot was on the board last week lamenting that Duke was playing at 220 rather than 195 or some ****. I wouldn't want to see a 195 lb back try to take on some of the blocks that Duke can.
 
Basically all of our RB's under Solie were great pass blocker and were great NFL pass blockers too.

Soldinger turned his dudes in to heat seeking missiles in pass pro. That guy is a ******* national treasure.

Came to write this.

Frank Gore and Portis stand out for me. Gore was/is textbook. Mcgahee played fullback in our NC game. Duke's a stud, but he's not yet approaching these guys when it comes to pass blocking.

I remember those guys stepping up and stoning people. Duke still goes for the cut blocks, with that added size would love to see him setp into people instead of diving low.
 
I think the moral of his story is: "Duke was an unsung hero Saturday." And his pass blocking lead to some big plays down the field.
 
i think duke also whiffed on a guy on saturday. obviously, if he improves in pass pro he can make a lot more money in the big boy league

Indeed. I don't remember how good Gore was but in the NFL Gore is an elite pass blocker. He throws everything he has at those guys.

I miss the days of UM putting an elite RB in the league every 2 or 3 years, and then you'd always hear announcers talking about how the RB is such a great pass blocker, and how all the awesome UM runners in the L are great blockers too.
