DTs and Jackson update - Tuesday 11PM

I'll wait till everything is official from the announcement of these two till signing day but I'm really start to sour on this coaching staff's ability to plan and construct a Miami caliber roster, especially on defense. These two leaving becomes a huge deal for the DL roster on paper next year regardless of how recruiting ends. It bothers me that this staff can't seem to convince kids who won't hear their name called more than likely on the 2nd day of the draft let alone the 1st to stay and improve their game. This is a bad move for all parties yet it doesn't matter.

All I know for sure is that we're about to find out first hand if Coach Kul really has the ability to develop like most believe he can. Yeah his resume says a lot but this DL roster on paper next year looks like **** from a depth perspective. The honeymoon is over, the excuses are over, it's time to put up or shut up. Hope there are a few aces up this staff's collective sleeve.

Panic mode. I’m not gonna lie and act like some dumb **** tough guy. This is BAD. 7 scholarship guys on the dline. The guys people are banking on are career back ups, head cases, injury prone or position switches. We have a defense that is 100% predicated on dline disruption and we just got embarrassed on the big stage twice in the last two weeks. We are two miracle plays away from being 8-3 this year and it’s not like we are coming in to 2018 with a significant advantage on offense if we don’t make changes. ******* horrible

For the record, this is a problem that started last cycle w this staff. We didnt recruit enough then and heard things like: "the staff likes the guys on roster" and "Willis is like another recruit."

Even if RJ and Norton stay, its meaningless unless the recruiting philosophy changes (at a couple of spots actually). Theres picky, and then theres playing yourself. Im not so sure this staff wouldve even taken RJ and Norton w the way they act.

The problem is older, since the Golden Era.

DT has become the premium moneybag position. We gotta play the game.

Im speaking in regards to THIS staff. Shoot, if were talking overall you can go back to the Shannon era almost. They walked into the problem, but it still exists in year 3.

We lucked out this yr w the tackles bc they stayed healthy, but even an injury or two this yr wouldve been pretty bad.

A similar situation is playing out at LB. There are only two proven LB's on the roster and both could be gone next year. The sole LB commit in this class is a HS pass rusher.

Were already hearing the excises about the pending disaster at that position.

we played 4 dt all season
willis, Ford, Bethal, and Nesta will be fine

already 2 commits for 2019, plus 2 linebackers already

2019 was always the year we back, we started early don't be fooled, enjoy it

bunch of Hillary supporter in here

The offseason seems to be our worst enemy over the last 7-8 years. Going back to the Finnie, Eddie Johnson, Gionni Paul year, the offseason seems to take solid guys away and it takes 2 recruiting classes to replace them. Between guys going pro early, transfers, and our own personal conduct standards its very irritating. After winning our bowl game last year I was giddy to watch the D line wreck shop this year, then courtel leaves and I'm like **** really? Then Willis is gone for the year. sigh. We still performed well but the depth would have made a difference this year no doubt. Now Dj is gone, we spent a lot of time out west securing him last cycle and I hate that it we couldn't change his mind. I believe we have the starters next year to compete but once again the depth will be lacking. Same for the LB core, Owens leaving when he just saw the most extended playing time all year? It's mind blowing truly and I'm ready to finish one season and actually return the majority of the 2 deep the following year. Is it to much to ask? Chubb and Sony come back to UGA because they believed they could compete for a Natty this year according to a post I read earlier. Walton would have given us that depth but noooo. Patience and planning just doesn't seem to matter anymore. We live in an instant gratification time. I hope player retention is something we improve at. We will not compete year in and year out until we are truly building depth and not replacing pieces

lotta lil B*tches here.

Next man up.

Lots of Estrogen here today

Take it from the guy with the Charlie Jones handle.

DL is a pending disaster unless Ford is a superstar and Willis stays clean.

so Norton was superstar now? but not ready for NFL?
which is it
Ford will be fine

No. We didn’t need Norton to be a superstar though because we had some depth, tdburns22.

we played 4 guys again
our 4 next year, are all highly recruited = you acting like a 12 year isn't going to change it, kids leave, wont be the last

2 more committed for 19, hopefully grab another good one this year for depth

Kendrick Norton and R.J. McIntosh look like they will head to the NFL.

Mike Jackson appears to be staying.

Official announcements expected by the end of the week.

We knew they were a package.... Pretty much been alluded to on here
