Just to confirm, He has eligibility for 2018, regardless if he plays this year or not....right?
Nobody has pinned that down. The NCAA manual for this year was published it on 1 August 17. I believe this is the applicable paragraphs:
14.02.14.1 Academic Year of Residence. To satisfy an academic year of residence, a student shallRevised: 4/14/10, 5/14/13)
(a) Be enrolled in and complete a minimum full-time program of studies for two full semesters or three full quarters; or
(b) Be enrolled in a minimum full-time program of studies for two semesters or three quarters and pass a number of hours (including hours earned at the certifying institution during a summer term) that is at least equal to the sum total of the minimum load of each of the required terms.
He may not have had enough hours going into the summer term and when he left, there went his eligibility. Me thinks that the compliance specialists and the AD's academic specialists are poring over this, looking to see if the hours add up to eligibility for this year (with Richt being guarded to keep Marky Mark's NCAA Funky Bunch off the trail).
