I was a little kid when this movie first came out & when I first saw it after it aired on TV, I genuinely thought this was a FSU documentary.
Saw it in the theater in ‘93 and was under the impression it was based on FSU at the time.

I heard on a podcast (the Rewatchables) that Michigan only agreed to be featured in the film if they won the game they were appearing in. Typical of them.

If I'm not mistaken, the producers actually approached the Semenholes to be the school that the movie centered around. But, given all the 'roids, rape, alcoholism and illiteracy, etc., they politely declined. Thus, giving us the ESU Timberwolves...
