DT Board from the March 13, 2025 Bank

At defensive tackle, some of the top targets include James Johnson (Northwestern via Fort Myers), Vodney Cleveland (Birmingham, AL), Jaimeon Winfield (Dallas, TX), Keshawn Stancil (Raleigh, NC), Corey Wells (Petal, MS), and Oregon commit Tomuhini Topei (Orange County, CA).​

Thread 'The Bank (3/13)'

With the team off for spring break, the staff is even more locked in on recruiting. Here are some names to monitor as business begins to pick up:

- Miami is aggressively pursuing offensive linemen in this class, which they believe is the best in years. This includes high-profile uncommitted targets (Jackson Cantwell, Keenyi Pepe) and flips. Two potential targets for a flip: four-star Mississippi State commit Emanuel Tucker (New Albany, MS) and Louisville commit Joel Ervin (Fort Myers). Miami is very high on the upside of both.

So I'm guessing the DREAM class at DT currently is:
- Lamar Brown
- James Johnson
- Tyson Bacon

Then 1 of (and in this order), or 2 if we miss on Lamar Brown:
- Vodney Cleveland
- Keshawn Stancil
- Freddie Wilson
- JJ Finch

Then at EDGE:
- Anthony Jones
- Bryce Perry-Wright
- Jaquez Wilkes
- Asharri Charles

Then if we miss on one of those maybe add::
- Daniel Norman
- DAnthony Lafayette

If we even get JJ, Bacon, Stancil, Wilson at DT, then Jones, Wilkes, Charles, Normal at EDGE... that's a pretty great DLine haul. If we add Lamar Brown, it's elite. If we add Brown and Like Perry-Wright, it's Likely our best DLine haul ever, which is saying something given in 2024 we landed Justin Scott, Armondo Blount, Marquise Lightfoot, etc.

I expect maybe an early szn DT/DE offer as guys fall off the board and some pop up for their sr year.

Guys i would offer that we havent recruited.
Hes a canadian kid. Mesidor could help here.

Usc is out the game and we could easily beat out who is in the game there. His dad was a solid player in the nfl. If he doesnt commit to unc this week i would start recruiting. Same HS as Hayden Lowe so we have the in there with the coach at Oaks Christian.

Good call on Peko. We're already recruiting his teammate, S Davon Benjamin, who I wish was in our class. His Dad replaced D. Lewis, as the new DL coach at Colorado. His older brother who is at Ventura (VCC), is committed there. What's up there?

The staff loves new DT commit Tyson Bacon (Hoover, AL). He is extremely respected in Alabama and is known as an athletic and intelligent player with a healthy edge. I continue to like Miami for blue-chip DT Keyshawn Stancil (Raleigh, North Carolina). Miami is also in the mix for Top 10 DTs nationally James Johnson (Fort Myers) and Lamar Brown (Baton Rouge, LA). Of the two, I get more confidence on Johnson. Very good shot there.​

Thread 'The Bank (6/13)'


Miami has another big visit weekend set up as it continues to push for a top 5 class. Here is the latest I am hearing:

- The Canes are being aggressive in prioritizing top local talent. WR Calvin Russell (Northwestern) visits this weekend and is a major priority regardless of what happens with other top targets. The same is true for next week's visitor, WR Jasen Lopez (Chaminade)- I don't believe he is an either/or with WR Vance Spafford (Orange County, CA) and the Canes want him badly. I continue to like the Canes for elite RB Derrek Cooper...

I was just looking at the DT rankings on 24/7 and Texas and USC have 7 of the top 14 ranked DT's. what's even crazier 5 of the 7 are 290+. I get the Texas pull, but USC? Their D has been trash!!! Do you guys this all 7 stick?
