First you said they were waiting to let the season die down a little. And now you're saying it is because they are working out the details. It appears you don't have a life and do have time to waste

I might have missed some posts, but frankly I haven't seen even one possible infraction by CD, let alone three.

Would it be too much to ask if we could see these three offending posts, if only for guidance in what constitutes such a sin?

CD is a premier poster. There's no need for such heavy-handedness, especially without a fair presentation of evidence.

Lastly, was CD given a right to counsel, or did he waive it?

If true there is nothing to gain by waiting to announce. Season is over...I'm calling bs but I do hope butch is on the way home!

Anyway, after speaking with my relative, the rumblings around the hecht today were true. The Canes did what some on here said they would. The BOT came together, sorted their differences and ultimately made the most popular decision for the Canes. After a couple of candidates that they sorted through, Schiano and Strong must notably, and to add Cristobal was never considered for the HC gig. Some even clamored for Scott. In truth, he was their guy all along, they just wanted to do their "due diligence" by inquiring about guys like Shula, Strong, and Chud. Strong's finish to the year really turned a lot of people "off".

Butch Davis will be the next Head Coach of the Miami Hurricanes.

Expect an announcement within the next week or two. They want to let the season die down a little before an announcement.

I have nothing to gain by wasting my own time as well as the diehard canes fan's time by writing this post.

I know I will get some hate but so be it. You will love me when the announcement is made. Might want to Sticky this one so everyone can remember who called it.

Actually this makes perfect sense. Only UM's administration would spend $250K on a firm to help them find the best coaching candidate only to hire the guy that had been right underneath there nose the whole time...the guy that the fans have been flying banners for. I am happy with the decision if this is true, but this administration is an absolute joke...especially if they wait a couple of more weeks to make an announcement.

Man these mods are ridiculous...they give out these subjective *** penalties....who moderates the moderators? i would love to ban some of them for a week or two

So who are we going to hire in 5 years when Butch fails to recreate the past in the new era of CFB? That's the real question!

In all seriousness, a Butch hire is neither great nor terrible. Maybe he can compile a killer staff to make up for his deficiencies as a coach? The only way I see him succeeding again is if he implements a modern offense.
 
Waiting to make a decision so they can reach out to top-tier coaches (Chip, Patterson, Gundy, etc) and interview Herman after the AAC Championship Game would make sense.

Making a premature decision without doing their due diligence, and then intentionally waiting to announce until after the dead period would be the dumbest f***ing thing UM could possibly do. If they've already decided on Butch, then it would be pointless to wait.

"Letting the season die down" to delay the inevitable instead of actually conducting a thorough search would be monumentally stupid.
 
I'm not going to assume OP is trolling just because it is a new account. It's been reported that there was some sort of an important meeting earlier today as posted by FakeChip seeing many cars and security blocking people. Also Butch was absent from ESPN Studios today to what appears as unscheduled absence.

My friend who works at the Hecht told me the day before Thanksgiving that a decision was expected to be made sometime during or after this weekend. I got heckled when I said it. If true, doesn't surprise me a bit.

Listen, Butch may end up being the coach, but I call BS on this post. If Butch is the guy and decision has been made, we'll know tomorrow.
