Haven't read the whole thread yet, and the rumor has probably already been debunked, but you're giving UM too much credit. Do you still think they're not a totally reactionary group of incompetent out of touch buffoons?

It's completely within the realm of possibility that these idiots had no idea how bad this situation was until the fans made it obvious over the last few weeks just how toxic it is. If you don't think fans pounding them constantly via email and every social media portal could make a huge difference with this group, then I don't know what else to say.

Add to that the fact that recruits are jumping ship by the minute, and Folden has gone into hiding from fear and you could have a percolating situation.

It's possible I suppose. Ultimately I still think they want to punt the decision to the next President and they probably believe that the football crazed fans will eventually calm down by the start of the 2015 season. But if nothing else at least we'll have some hope for the next 48 hours or so.

My buddy got to go down to a bowl practice and was hosted by jesse marks. He said they dont care. Someone told him that administration doesnt care about the fans and the quote was... "they'll be back when we start winning again". We're ****ed

The admins don't give a single ****. Thats why I say if Golden is gone Monday it will be because he decided to end his misery. I simply don't believe that the BOT ever had/has an intention of firing before the new president comes in. So if Golden is out, its his decision cause its become too toxic and miserable for him and his family. IMO

nobody leaves millions of dollars and walks away on their own. plus he probably thinks he can win next year. they would have to fire him.

OP didn't mislead. he stated he heard from a source he got good info from in the past. other than that he basically said to take it at face value.

I would hate it is Cristobal was the next head coach but I don't think that he even coaching on the defensive side of the ball...is he???

I've said it since this board was created and going back to the days on Grassy...

Soldinger is a pure teacher. We haven't had many of those here over the last decade and you could argue he was possibly the best position coach /assistant we've had in this program during that same span of time.

He never should have been let go in the first place so it goes without saying this is one of the few "guys from the past" I wouldn't have a problem with the new coach retaining/bringing back.

I concur with you. Should and/or Will Butch return to the U as h/c, I would love to see Soldinger return there as a position or tangible coach. The age is not important as long as his experience and familiarity with the U means everything to the program.
 
Fortunately for me and my source, there's recall functionality on vBulletin.

I was able to successfully recall 298 of the unread PM's.
