Did Butch do anything for ESPN yesterday during the coverage off the playoffs? If not would find it strange since he was on everyday since the start of bowl season.

Next HC must be offensive coordinator and head coach.......that is how you win in college. Otherwise you are searching for a new OC every few years.

Chud is the obvious answer. Offensive guru.

lol Golden is worse by a mile. Our reputation is far worse now than it was with Coker and Shannon. Shannon/Golden records are the same but Golden cant win a single big game...at least Shannon did.

He's saying Golden is worse than Shannon which would have seemed impossible 4 years ago. That's the point -- if they actually do fire Golden they can't mess up again and hire someone like Cristobal because he might actually be as bad or worse than Golden.

Which is why you hire butch and let cristobal be under him in a coordinator role butch could easily pluck coordinators and put together a dynamic staff.

I haven't been around. But I will assume based on the responses that he wants back in. Did he get any penalties due to Unc academic/recruiting issues? Would he be able to come in with a clean slate in other words? That is a concern I have. If he is all good from NCAA then cool. Otherwise I think we should go elsewhere.

Ncaa exonerated Butch. UNC scapegoated him to try and save its basketball team. pretty sure ncaa now investigating Tarheels basketball.

Butch has said numerous times he regrets he left us. He'd love to come back if job was available.

A week ago, he went all up the coaching staffs booty hole in the herald.

This week, while on ESPN, he talks about his time rebuilding miami every chance he gets.

Haven't read the whole thread yet, and the rumor has probably already been debunked, but you're giving UM too much credit. Do you still think they're not a totally reactionary group of incompetent out of touch buffoons?

It's completely within the realm of possibility that these idiots had no idea how bad this situation was until the fans made it obvious over the last few weeks just how toxic it is. If you don't think fans pounding them constantly via email and every social media portal could make a huge difference with this group, then I don't know what else to say.

Add to that the fact that recruits are jumping ship by the minute, and Folden has gone into hiding from fear and you could have a percolating situation.
 
Vermin now saying Butch is assembling a staff but not to coach at UM with.

Seems like this is just another false rumor. Another day another rumor about Al being fired and another day with Al still being coach
 
If Golden is fired Miami would need to hire someone who they can afford at this point but also someone who will win big right now an that is Butch Davis.

I could see Butch Davis's UM Coaching staff looking like the following:

Head Coach = Butch Davis
OC = James Coley or Ken Dorsey
WR = Lamar Thomas (yes it is time to bring Lamar Home)
RB = Tim Harris
OL = Kehoe
TE = Larry Scott

DC/LB = Jim Leavitt or Dave Aranda (who would work under Davis no problem, because he is likes learning from creative minds an Butch has a very good defensive mind)
DLine = Kevin Patrick
DB = Hurlie Brown
Special Teams = Andre King (he brings a lot of Georgia connections and is a creative thinker as well as a details guy which is what you need in developing special teams)

This would keep a lot of the key current coaches in place an yet infuse a lot new blood that are good teachers and fiery types. An this staff could be in place by Wednesday if Golden is fired on Monday. The rest of college football would crap themselves with a staff like that at Miami.

everybody and their brother has been talking about the buyout being cheaper after the new year so don't act like you didn't know what I was talking about.

I just can't grasp the thought of a team going 6-7 and always seem to fall apart in the second half of games and the HC can say no changes and we are improving..
