Appreciate the info but I'll believe it when I see it. If they had any intention of firing him this year you would think they would have done it immediately after the Pitt game.
That's what discourages me here though.
Coming from people close to the program.
I just want to see if the University will actually pull the trigger man.
So do you have a source or not?
Yes.
But what makes me feel uneasy, is why didn't they do this after the Pitt game if it's the case?
I still take it even with a grain of salt as I said earlier in the thread. The University has been spitting in the fans faces for over a month now on the situation.
I'll eat crow if it's wrong but I can't sit here and tell you that "I" personally think it's going to happen 100%, I would be lying to you if I felt this was a done deal. I'm telling you what I was told. As far as I knew a few weeks ago, not even a peep about him getting fired. This is all new.
Where I feel good about it. Correct information has been shared to me in the past.
I'm just a bit skeptical myself cause I didn't feel with my own opinion like they would can Golden this year.
As I said. Sharing with you what I was told.
I imagine that, if this were to come to pass, it would not be a firing, given the timing. Al would be resigning with a negotiated buyout less than whatever is contained in the contract.
I do not believe there is any reason to believe the buyout decreased significantly as of January 1. The years on Al's contract do not begin in January
This! I was just about to post this. It would explain a lot of things:
1) Why it has taken so long.
2) Why everything has been so quiet. Golden has not been seen or heard from.
3) Why he has stopped recruiting. I know it is the "Quiet Period" but when some kids call you, you make the most of it and apparently he hasn't been returning calls.
4) Why no changes have been made.
This is the best scenario for all parties.
Just curious. How do we know he hasn't been returning their calls? Someone on the inside letting that information out?
It was said by a recruit I believe. It's on the recruiting board.

Thanks. The recruiting board has been depressing lately (like EyeInTheSky hasn't been, lol) so I haven't stepped in there much.
Lets say this actually does happen.
Do people want Shalala and Blake James leading up a head coaching search? Because that's your outcome here. And that means absolutely, unquestionably, Butch Davis is not an option.

I feel you on that man. I rarely go in there, but I did today and read that thread.
The only way this happens now is if golden decided to negotiate a buy out. I don't think the school was thinking about firing him. I just don't see this happening though cause we're not that lucky

The only reason I can think of for golden getting fired this late is that maybe the administration wanted golden to fire a few assistants after the bowl game and he wouldn't budge. Other than that there is no reason to wait this long to fire a coach.

Positivity homie, positivity. I need it from you man. I know you're better than this. Chin up, focus, and get your head in the game.

Again, Al Golden is undefeated in the rumors game.

Jameis Winston was also undefeated in his career coming into the Rose Bowl game...
