Donell Harris Decommits

LOL! So many people in this thread showing their asses. It’s embarrassing, and the only thing worse are the losers on Twitter going in on Harris. Get a life folks.

By the way, @DMoney is 100% correct in this thread. I’ve jumped all over him in the past for being a terribly blind homer, but he’s killing it in this thread. We haven’t given these kids any good reason to come to Miami for years. That needs to change, and if it does, our recruiting will improve greatly. That said, we’ll never recruit like Bama, Clemson or UGA because we’ll never be able to offer the same kind of extra incentives. That doesn’t necessarily mean we won’t be able to compete with them on the field though.

First thing is first though, stop dramatically underachieving year over year. Start dominating the Coastal division year over year. Start getting kids drafted higher.
Stop with the BS about underachieving. This kid and every other kid that decommited knew the W/L's when they committed in the first place. So that's not an excuse. Otherwise, they wouldn't have committed in the 1st place.

What people get ****ed about is how these kids get on Twitter clamoring so much love and loyalty to the program. First sign of dollars or perceived better opportunity, they're out!!! These kids needs to stop with the Twitter love and the grownups need to ignore them good or bad.

This is the United States of America. There is free speech to a point. As long as nobody is threatening harm to an individual or person with relations to that person, then it's all fair game. Those that say negativity towards a decomitt affects whether that kid recomitts is just fooling themselves. When a kid decomitts without a coaching change, he's not recomitting. When you go on Twitter and rant and rave that you are "ride to die" with us, then bolt for the opposition, you have to expect that people are going to hate on you. You left us for the enemy. You are now the enemy!!!

The only thing that burns my backside is that the kids would rather jump on a train than build one. They don't understand or I guess don't care that nobody south of the Alabama/Gorgia state line will care if they won or competed for a championship. The kids that one day bring Miami it's next championship will be legends forever!!!

I mean, the FBI investigation literally pointed out through an assistant basketball coach at Clemson, that the football program actually pays for its players. But you're telling me that bags aren't involved?

Clemson fans are quick to debunk all that with the reason of, "He's a rogue coach." So in other words, he was just kidding when he said all of that.

If Collins took a bag, his mom must have not known about it since she ran off with the LOI. Byrd went to the same school as his adopted brother.

We are getting beat by teams like Alabama and Georgia. The teams competing for championships. We usually win battles with everyone else.
UGA has competed for one championship since 1980. Did I miss somthing?

Do you think Jeudy made the right decision? Or would he have had more fun in last year's Miami offense?
Hindsight is 20/20. The question is why did he go to a team with three other 5 star receivers at a time when that offense wasn’t throwing jack!
Don’t play the results. AR broke records while playing in that offense with kaaya throwing to him.
He'd be first round no questions. If you ball you will get drafted high. No other team pays as much for previous coaching mistakes as we do.

Only way anything changes is when Emmert is done in the NCAA. And I’d be willing to bet it’s synonomous when Saban retires.

Forget bags. Why would a big-time DE pick Miami over Clemson right now?

Campbell didn't get coached and was underdrafted. Vernon didn't get coached and was underdrafted. Chick's career was ruined. Meanwhile, Clemson is turning similar talents into first rounders every year.

We have a fifteen-year track record of losing and wasting talent. This kid was born in 2001.

We don't hold on to the big-time local kids because we have big-time competition and we are small time. Manny needs to show times have changed.

That’s fine but it’s tough to show times have changed with Plan B and Plan C type players. To win big games you need some elite players to guys who play elite in elite situations. You won’t do there regularly with middle of the pack classes and losing high end local talent, especially those who claim to be Miami or those with ties or tight links to the program.

Again, the facts speak for themselves. No school outperforms its draft position like the Miami Hurricanes. Combine that with our struggles in the Coastal, and it is clear that we aren't getting the most of our players:

We compared each school’s weighted draft value and their overall performance in the NFL since 2002 to figure out which school’s produced the biggest NFL overperformers and underperformers. No school overperforms like Miami.

You are misconstruing the "facts" to make a point that isn't there...You can just as easy say that scouts are aware of this and helps a kid like jaquan johnson get drafted at all...aka "he's a miami boy, let's not worried about that fact he's too small and runs like a tight end"

It’s ironic that these kids and the entire sofla youth football network is nut hugging these kkk bag droppers.
They have even divided us to the point that we are being told that if a kid handles his recruitment poorly he and his family should be free of criticism cause golden and cmr sht the bed and what else do you expect.
We should hold our tongue because some posters will hurt our recruiting effort. We’re told that no way would jerry jeudy or dalvin cook be high draft picks if they came here despite small *** schools getting dudes drafted high. FSU beats us in recruiting despite that program having nothing left from top to bottom from the team that won the natty and not even making a bowl. And guess what? They still have a top ten class as of now!! But we have to pay for Goldie’s defense and cmr’s offense? Y
The reason bama and the other usual suspects know about an 8 th grader before we do in our own back yarsd, the reason our most vocal recruit bounces, the reason we can win 11 games and lose to Clemson and still not get the kids down here to stay is simple.
Those schools have employed a philosophy. A philosophy that is ironic in a very historical sense considering where these schools are located.
A philosophy that has already begun to tear down what could’ve been our most dominant class in a very long time.
By any means necessary.

Lol nah...So much wrong with this statement...A. Some were drafted right where they should be. B. Some had off the field issues. C. Some should have stayed in school D. Some went high anyway...We can name Canes drafted in 1st round that are awful, etc.

You are really reaching here to defend this pattern of behavior.

Every UM defensive player aside from maybe Sheldrick Redwine was drafted well below where they should have been last draft.

Joe Jackson was...Willis had other issues. Not really on the rest. And Redwine probably went higher than he deserved.

Jaquan one of my favorite Canes, but he tested like a billy goat.

Some tidbits off the UGA thread on Harris:

Kirby works quietly.
You can bet your *** Georgia has a hand at the poker table.

From an acknowledged "insider".....

And, probably should put this in Gator Tears, but it looks like Gervon Dexter is next on their list of acquisitions....

Yes , we can all cite exceptions. But, if you look at it in aggregate are they just data points. Overall, for the last 15 years, have we done a good job developing our talent.

For Christ sakes, the mantra on here is that annually, we're the most talented team in the Coastal and we've won it only once.

technically twice but forfeited

$EC and Clem$on getting more aggressive than ever. They know Saban is nearing his end and they're doing whatever it takes to grab that top spot.
