Dolphins should...

The Dolphins should sign an actual RT like Cordy Glenn, Kevin Beachum or Jason Peters and put Hunt at guard. They should probably sign Anthony Chickillo as well since we don’t have too much depth on the edge.

The last thing we need is a malcontent Cam Newton to show Tua the ropes. Fitz will be a great mentor.

Best case scenario for the Dolphins this year:

1. Rosen legitimately beats out Fitz and plays well. This enables us to trade Rosen for a nice price a la New England trading away Garoppolo.

2. Tua rests most of the year but gets in some mop up duty or starts a game or two at the end of the year a la Mahomes’ rookie year.

3. The Houston Texans totally suck. We get their 2021 1st and 2nd round picks. Vegas dropped their win total to Under 8 wins -140. Over 8 wins is now+120. The Colts are slightly favored to win the South at Over 8.5 -170 followed by Tennessee Over 8.5 -135. Can’t have the Texans win the South. And hopefully they implode.

I understand the Perryman trade, but not the move for Cam. I doubt Cam would be willing to go to a team without a legit opportunity to start.

Rapeis Winston just did.

Cam can hold out for as long as he wants, but there is no team with a "legit opportunity to start", at least TODAY. Maybe if someone gets injured, but then he's been sitting around not learning the playbook.

Who knows if Tua is ready to start on Day 1/healthy enough to start on Day 1. And if Cam is scared of Ryan Fitzmagic, then he needs to get a new profession.

Cam could easily be the Day 1 starter for the Dolphins, even if he is not PROMISED to be the Day 1 starter for the Dolphins. And it could be argued that his athletic style is a closer match to Tua's, and that Cam would be a better mentor than old man Fitzpatrick.

Not interested in Cam & his ridiculous attention seeking behavior. We actually have a lot of young depth at linebacker so Perryman wouldn't be needed, although it would be a cool story for him to come home.

Cam at his peak is a top 5-10 QB in the league. To say, there is no team with a legit opportunity for him to start is crazy talk. If Miami hadn't picked Tua, then yes, it would've been an ideal situation for him to come here and potentially finish his career with the Fins. However, Fins have Tua and the last thing they're going to do is put someone on the team that could stump his growth and development.

I don't put a lot of stock into his off the field stuff. He's still a top tier QB when healthy. Maybe I don't have a good ideal of how the NFL feels about Cam, but I don't see him signing for less than two years which scratches him off Miami's board.
