Of course he is. That's step one in the process. The "advisor/ mentor" has to get his cut. There are cats like Genron all over. Where do people think these guys get the money to be taking a these kids on visits and driving them around to unofficials and tournaments etc.

So Valentine wasn't about money when he committed to us, but now suddenly he's all about the money. I don't doubt hes getting something as is Genron as thats just the way recruiting goes. Is it why he started looking and eventually will pick LSU. NO. Its our ****** on field performances, our ****** defense and the horrible scheme that Golden implements. You can point at a million other reasons, but in the end, the defensive scheme and Golden's refusal to make changes cost us Valentine.

2. Every kid that deals with a sponsor, SFE coach, or mentor is getting paid unless they are committed to Miami

Miami is going after TV with everything they have, but the person posing as his mentor has ulterior motives.

Is that the only factor? No, our defensive struggles have given him the ammunition to plant his negative spin.

Perception is everything, people he trusts can say "the D sucks, but they have no talent in the front 7, but you, Chad, Demetrius, Young, Harris, Moten…will be legends for bringing back the old school Miami D" or they can say "the D sucks and its best you go to LSU…"

I don't think anyone is discounting the fact that Genron is a Miami hating ***** or that he doesn't take some type of cut. However, I don't see how that automatically correlates to TV not wanting to come to Miami. If that were the case, why did TV commit to Miami in the first place?

I think he eventually grew old with our scheme and lack of D-line presence in the draft (total opinion on my part). Lately, LSU has produced some studs and plays a D-Line friendly scheme that allows them to attack and make plays. Who knows, he may have grown old with Miami and staying home.

committed to the hometown program. Liked what he heard from our coaches, especially when we were 7-0. Saw our D get its **** pushed in repeatedly in a ridiculous stupid scheme and whole team not bother showing up for the bowl game. Saw the coach he committed to try to leave, then make zero changes to said **** D. Gee, wonder why he didn't stay committed.

There is a whole racket with guys like Genron, where they work as "scouts" for bullsh*t recruiting services that have direct ties to certain schools and boosters from those schools. They are basically paid to hustle kids to certain schools, take them on unofficial visits, block out other programs, etc. The NCAA has tried digging into this before, including everyone's good friend Charles Fishbein's shady @ss operation that was employing street agents and he had to fire at least one after the NCAA came after them.

People dont realize the entire industry that exists in many places to hustle these kids and college programs.

Buttt, buuttt, butttt....they are doing this for the kids!

Just like a 7on7 team charging 350 kids 20 bucks a pop to try out for a team that is pretty much set.

We just need to hold onto our own for 2014.. We have several guys who if coached up can be dominant. I worry more about our staff's ability to develop than recruit.. 2014 is solid. #15.. means we should be winning.. cut the bull.

2015.. should be another monster year in recruiting.. we need to push on guys hard. I don't care if he likes ohio state.. we can't let another Ryan Shazier go..
