Does the UM BOT really want to dance this dance?

Miami is not poor. Plus they’re about to get PAID with the ACC Network coming soon. Doesn’t matter though, Richt bought himself years and years of free will with his million dollar donation to the IPF

There may still be a 19 minute window in which Richt can hire an OC, get out of his own way, and salvage something. It's incredibly unlikely, but maybe still possible.

Do you still think Richt is the guy? Do you think his 15 year career at UGA is a large enough sample? When was the last time he won the conference?

I appreciate what youre saying, but he'd still get a ring if they win one and hes not a critical member of their staff. Offer him 1.5-2 million with up to a 3 million signing bonus. We have to save this season if possible.
Hes there to work himself up the nfl coaching ranks ..... hes not taking a step back to the college game

Richt will not be fired this year. He gets at least 2019 for goodwill of winning ACC Coastal last year and his IPF donation. The question is what kind of fan are you: do you give Richt a chance to bring in a quality OC and replace Searles with a quality OL coach in the offseason and hope it works or do you totally give up hope and not return to the program until another HC is brought in?

Just off bad publicity 3 years ago

With Golden there were no talks of an IPF and we were on the back end of a nike deal. Now there's more at stake to go through this again with the person you thought would bring relevancy back to the program is a slap in the face to them
Goldens 2013 team would Lay Waste to this team....

I’m fine with Richt as HBC AS LONG AS he completely relinquishes playcalling duties and OC to a competent person.

And, that needs to happen this offseason

We are stuck with Richt until 2023 unless he retires.
I agree here, I don't think the BOT or James/Franks will pull the trigger unless we go 0-11 next year. SO the answer is to "convince" CMR to hire a new OC, with only Dugans being protected from the offensive side of the ball.

Coach Brown might have to be the scapegoat. From CMR's perspective and per UM payroll we do have an OC in the books. So its not get an OC but rather replace the current OC and give the new OC full empowerment over the offense. Allow the new OC to hire an entire staff while protecting Dugans.

This is a recurring nightmare for CMR since he lived this very problem in Georgia and he come out convince that he should call the plays and be the co-OC. CMR believes in having a tight durable coaching staff, so he must be allowed to pick the OC from a list 2 candidates that can use the speed of S. Fl recruits in an innovative offense.

Finally Jon will be a problem, allow CMR to move him to an admin title something big like VP of nutrition and IPF maintenance. (make it up).

Let see how he does in 2019 and 20. BUT right now our BOT will not eat his salary no way.

Its not just the OC thats the problem.

OL is an unmitigated disaster. QBs are a disaster. An OC can mask that, but those kids need better coaching.

STs is a nightmare mess. has been for the entire time Richt has been here. OC does nothing for that.

Our defense has played great against inept teams. It did that last year too. Diaz and Simpson are keepers for sure, but the rest of that side is a joke.

There is a reason he got fired from UGA. He shouldnt be here either.

Right, but if he hired an OC we might have a shot at winning the all the easy games. Then we can talk about what's needed to be an actually good team. At this point I'd like to see a step in the right direction.

No, he's obviously not the guy, but he's what we've got. If he can do what I said then maybe the next few years don't have to be completely miserable. Maybe another coach who's less stubborn and has more fire will see how close we are to greatness.
