Does The O-Line Get Better Next Year?

Just a thought but many of us when watching pitt oline manhandle defense’s down the stretch for example vs uva which is what we struggled to do many of us said I wish we had their oline. When pitt oline met Miami’s defense they got destroyed while ours looked pretty **** good vs pitt and they were actually moving folks in the running game. At first I was Putting a lot of blame on Searels and don’t get me wrong there are too many mental mistakes with his group for sure but a lot of their struggles on the oline group as a whole are exploited even more with how richt conducts the offense.

With better coaching and better talent overall, I like that starting 5. Thoughts?

I think we have to find a way to move scaife inside. Hes naturally a guard all the way. Hopefully campbell herbert or hillery step up and take the RT spot. Brown too potentially

The olines biggest problem is they didnt have 2 ready tackles thsy should have arguably 4 next season so barring injury they should be much better with a more talented group

I don't follow this **** enough anymore.

Is the O-Line getting better or worse?

I liked the Jordan kid at TE this year.

Everybody else was pretty much trash.
better. grad transfer kennedy is a legit lt. unlike st louis who was a rt at lt. then u got Gaynor who should be better at center another year for Donaldson/Scaife on right side should make them better and reed/campbell/Herbert/Hillary all highly regarded oline recruits who if develop will make Miami oline much better. the system change will help more screens quick hitters will help line as well as spreading d out to help open holes in run game the system last year didn't help what was a weak oline either so this year will be better how much depends on how the kids develop but from talent/coaching standpoint are better position to be much improved

While not great, St. Louis was the best lineman on the team over the course of 12 games.

So I'm not sure you can say that a bad OL losing their best player will be improved.

He was much better the year before when he was playing at RT. He's not a LT but he was our best OL so we had no choice. If that Kennedy kid can stabilize the LT position there is no reason this OL can't improve. Also, just having a less predictable offense will help as well.

1. I don't think they were coached up.

2. I don't think they were properly motivated.

3. I don't think they were imparted with the full measure of burn.

If you need someone to motivate you at this level then this **** not for u

Since tackle is pretty well solidified with Kennedy and Scaife I'd let Campbell compete at guard:

1: KENNEDY / DONALDSON / GAYNOR / REED / SCAIFE

2: HERBERT / HILLERY / DYKSTRA / CAMPBELL / BROWN

3: ELGAMMAL / GRIFFITH / CLARK / SCIBELLI / NELSON

Griffith and Scibelli are what the French would call preferred walk-ons

Campbell might be the guy at Right Tackle. Was very impressive for a true frosh according to coaches
