Does Ed O have an official role?

Sarcasm is sometimes hard to detect through text so I can't tell if you're trolling or not. I do have a question though. How did you get "Patrick Surtain II" from "Surhan Surhan" (it's correctly spelled 'Sirhan Sirhan' the dude who was put away for assassinating Robert Kennedy)?
Surtain killed Kennedy?

****.

Would be a power move if brought in. Surprised he hasn’t gotten picked up by bama yet. But he must love the latinas and the sun down here. If brought on the staff I feel bad for any player not going 110% and slacking off.

Sorry if already discussed; didn't see it anywhere. I see he's been hanging around the program a lot and taking photos with recruits. Is this just part of the coaching clinic or is there an expectation he may be brought on as an analyst?
People will troll but I have heard some whispers about the POTENTIAL of getting him on staff. Haven't heard any offers or acceptance. Would be dope but pure speculation at this point.

Trying not to get my hopes up, mainly because TOC is so adamant that it absolutely will not happen and I’m naturally a pessimist lol.

Look, I will be honest as ****. I am giving an "opinion" that is not my personal opinion, but is based on over 35 years of observations about how UM does things. I have seen administrators, staffers, and professors who were "let go" based on "things they did" and there was never any pretension that they could ever return to UM employment under any circumstances.

Some will complain about this, but I would imagine that the "well-known" nature of Orgeron's past employment at UM, coupled with some of the things that were reported RECENTLY (as recently as his time at LSU) would become problematic. To give an example, even if Mario "hired" Orgeron today, there is nothing stopping a sizable contingent of UM professors, employees, and administrators from going to Frenk to veto the whole arrangement. It happened at Tennessee with Schiano. It just happened at Grambling with Art Briles. And I am not sure that Mario would want his "undefeated hiring record" over the last few months to be tarnished by objections to the hiring of Orgeron.

Again, I can't stress this enough. I believe in second chances, I don't hate Orgeron, ****, I was fine with bringing Butch back too. But a lot of posters look at these things as individual people ("oh, Coach X has changed, he shouldn't be a problem") without looking at decades worth of UM hiring (or non-hiring) practices.

Could it happen? Maybe. Is it likely to happen? No.

But some posters are reeeeeeaaaaalllllly going to focus on that "maybe"...

Maybe we can just 1099 Ed O to do remote video review work from Louisiana...

If I remember correctly Mario and O were very close as Ed was a coach for 3/4 years when Mario played here. That relationship is solid.

If Mario wants him on this staff and Ed wants to be on this staff it will happen. It’s a new day for athletics around Miami. Smells like winning.

He’s a good football mind to have around the team. I think he can also help with recruiting Louisiana. Where there is smoke, there’s fire. His son now being on staff means he’s going to be around and that benefits Miami in multiple ways. I don’t think he does anything that will jeopardize this opportunity for his son.

Again, Mario is proving he’s leaving no stone unturned. If it benefits the progrum, he’s on it like a fly on stank.
