Does anyone still actually believe in Manny?

If he makes staph changes then maybe. He made changes to the 2018 staff becuase their performance was not acceptable. Remember the 7-6 wrestling match they had to show it wasn't acceptable? There are plenty of failures from offensive execution, player development and recruiting...

If not, then we all know how this movie will end in 2021. Seem the movie and its many sequels.

Surely this thread will turn out well..

Me personally, I can't help but think about what an absolute failure Enos has been for him. When he was hired a lot of people throughout the country called it a slam dunk hire, we had stolen the soon to be offensive coordinator from bama. Man were they wrong... if i'm being honest, and we're all being honest in that regard, is he not the worst most shockingly disappointing coordinator that has ever been hired here? Could he have been any worse man I mean really, the guy is ranked 130th out of 130 teams on 3rd down conversions. No one saw this coming, not any of you knew he was going to be this glaringly bad and there were plenty of you who were not sold on the guy. But at the least you'd figure at his worst he'd be around 80th or 90th in that category?

I was a big manny fan, and I'm hoping he turns it around because he has shown the ability to adapt. He completely dropped that delayed 3rd down safety blitzing crap and we became an incredible defense in doing so. We had basically this same offense and yet we all knew when the defense came out we were gonna get a turn over or a stop a lot of times.

Fast forward to blake baker, a guy completely in over his head as well. Another shockingly borderline horrible hire that rivals even enos in terms of worst coordinators in UM history. This guy is infinitely in over his head, from dropping GR15 into coverage, to calling that same stupid **** delayed blitz that never gets home. He took a defense that he should have had to barely even touch and had people like ga tech marching up and down the field at will on us. At the very least he even admits he's bad ( in comparison to Enos who is like richt in that certain way ), but man how can you be THIS bad with THIS talent.

I get Manny has had teams take it to his defense here and there, but he is 100000000000000000x the coordinator that blake baker is. The FIU game lost me when it came to manny, it showed me he was in over his head at this level of play. But I'd honestly like to see him fire blake and take the defense back under his full control.

I know everyone just wants to burn the shop down, but if you have other thoughts those might be more constructive to post.
I agree 100% with your analysis of Enos and Baker. Diaz can't possibly bring those 2 clowns back and do it with a straight face. You're right that those 2 are most definitely among the worst coordinators to ever coach here. With those 2 bozos here together it isn't tough to understand why we went 6-6.

As far as still believing in Diaz that answer would be....No phucking way! How could anyone expect anyone else to believe in Diaz when he presided over the clown show we witnessed this year? The real question is if Diaz has what it takes to win some of us back. After the stunning level of incompetence we were treated to this year I honestly expect him to retain the entire staff.

If Diaz is a smart guy he will fire Enos, Barry and Baker for starters and bring in some real coaches. I would try to hire Charlie Strong to be DC and David Yost to be DC. Then you hire the best OL coach available. Does Diaz have the brains and the sack to make these moves? Can he be trusted to make them on his own? That's the million dollar question.

No, I don't still believe in Manny.

Why would anybody believe in Manny? We can want him to turn it around. We can hope that he turns it around. But there is no reason to believe he will turn it around.

Even that ******* who thinks manny deserves 3-4 years because... “Saban” couldn’t think of any reason to believe many will turn it around.

I want to believe.

Same as Al Golden and Randy Shannon before them. I really don't want to believe that we have someone who will leave the program in a worse shape than he found it. So am I hopeful. But also realistic.

That said, I am not relishing the idea that Manny is destined for failure as some seem to, because yet another failed coach means serious ramifications for the program.
Nobody’s relishing it... it’s just obvious that’s what’s coming so we want him gone before it happens.

He was on the staff in 99 when FSU won.

Look up your own facts homeboy. Done doing your homework.

He was a GA. He wasnt coaching ****.

Where are these NFL guys he coached up? Does it not concern you that a he hasnt been able to teach any of his players the game of football well enough to have them
continue their careers?

You are a ******* moron. He had his chance to build a staff, failed miserably, and then you want to applaud him let him have a do-over? why? hes a ****** nole nerd. why do people love this guy so much?

you really think that this job is simply understanding some “blueprint”? how ******* naive are you?

if only randy or al knew the secret blueprint!
You missed the point, OldU. Unlike Al Golden who never implemented the correct defensive scheme (it was way too passive & didn't let South Florida athletes do what they do best), Manny actually does understand what a Miami defense should look like. Golden & D'No never understood that & that led to their downfall.

Under Manny (not Blake), our DL have generated a large number of sacks and our defense has generated a large number of turnovers. We had one of the top-ranked defenses in 2018 and it was fun to watch. Under Manny as the DC, it felt like we were back to playing Miami ball on Defense. We never really did under Golden (it wasn't until the very end of his tenure when it was too late). So, understanding what Miami Football should look like (as a starting point) is hugely important. Manny does understand that (from his days at FSU under Bowden when Miami beat the brakes off them etc).

Where Manny has made mistakes so far is in the hiring of his staff (OC, DC & ST coaches, among others). The implementation on both sides of the ball hasn't matched Manny's vision (the blueprint). I hope that clarifies things for you.

I never did.

He is a pretty decent defensive coordinator, but he wasn't great or anything. I told this forum years ago that he was overrated by the people on this forum...and he's very very overrated by the slop administration in the Hecht. They buy all of his politician snake oil that comes out of his mouth. The same as they did for Al Golden. They are know nothing nobodies that buy the slick, jive talk.

Miami was given the gift of a lifetime by Mark Richt and it was absolved from the awkward transition of telling Manny Diaz 'thanks but no thanks' after he took the job at Temple.

...and this is what we end up with.

Something tells me that Manny’s hiring was a demand by Richt in exchange for forgoing his buyout.

TBH, I think the AD should have told Richt he could do whatever the **** he wanted with his staff, but he better perform in 2019. Then, after Richt went 7-5 this year with himself calling plays, his son as QB coach, Searles as Oline coach and Banda and Patke as co-DCs, Mark Richt would be fired. And with Manny probably having a bad year at Temple, we find a different head coach than Manny.

Nice theory, but Richt letting go of his buyout was 100 percent him being generous. There was no Manny Diaz as the head coach stipulation with it.

This was 100 percent a guy liked by many high dollar donors and some part of it involved favors granted in the past being called in. I will leave it at that as I always have.

Here is a recent conversation between me and Alex Trebek.

Alex: People just walking away from buyouts for nothing

Me: “What is the silliest things canesinsight posters believes?”

Alex: Correct, 4thdown. You get $2,000.

Alex, I’ll ask silly things canesinsight believes for $2,000.

So you suppose Richt being the puppeteer of Miami's football program is less silly. High IQ post, new friend.

You must have read my post wrong. Nowhere I applauded Manny. Nowhere did I state any love for the guy. I pointed out the failures of him and his staff. Also pointed out the pending outcome should he run things back with the same process and guys.

Maybe you should tone down the tough talk some and you can comprehend a lil better.
