Does anyone still actually believe in Manny?

issues with program run deep, CMD was a lazy hire by Blake and very irritating as M.Richt let us off the hook $$$$
and we had some house money to make an excellent hire like FSU just did with Norvell, current AD/BOT missed on D.Mullen as well as B.Davis.... you remember B.Davis
the HC who " schooled" young CMD. only silver lining is CMD fails this year and Blake and Carol go with him.
schedule last year was weak and this years schedule is just as bad...WAGNER LOL
Blake has dumbed the schedule down so badly that 8 wins is almost a given.
let the whole group go Blake,Carol, CMD and his staff.
CMD is Al Golden2.... run for Mayor of Hialeah ..... be a good fit for CMD

Is this OP a joke? About 70% of this website is still slurping Manny.

About 25% of this website is openly slurping Manny, and about 45% of this website is pretending (in many cases only about half pretending) to not be slurping him.

Manny will have plenty of slurpers until he gets fired after 4 seasons. Whenever he has a win or 2, the slurpers will stop pretending to not be slurpers. And some people will be slurping him even after bad losses.

That’s the way it works with every bad Miami coach. And since some people like Manny’s fake swagger, it’ll be especially extreme with him.

PS the #1 sign of a Manny slurper is somebody who’s pretending not to know about the existence of closeted (or half closeted) Manny slurpers.

Something tells me that the OP is a Manny slurper.

Now that I actually read the OP’s poRst (rather than just the title), I realize more than ever that he’s a half closeted Manny slurper.

He admits liked the promotion of a guy who had been fired from a DC job at Texas. And who served under a Miami head coach who sucked and went 26-13.

He’s blaming all of Manny’s suckitude on his staff. And acts like he’d improve if he’d just fire everybody.

To cap it all off, the OP says that Manny is 1,000,000 times the DC Baker is. He acts like Manny isn’t the real coordinator of this atrocious defense. And that Baker isn’t a glorified position coach.

Not me personally. Here's my feelings from Day 1.

1 - Felt the hire was a lazy, easy hire and not the best guy. I was against it from Day 1 because Manny had zero HC experience, had been fired along the way in other pressure situations, and had a history of bad hires on the defensive side with former GAs, HS coaches and guys that hold zero weight in living rooms of high level recruits. Our 2 best coaches, Kool and Simpson, were Richt hires.

2 - Manny was always a poor recruiter as a DC and as the head guy, you NEED to be better. When he came in and tried being different with the whole #TNM thing, doing the social media thing, getting some buzz, etc....i felt like maybe i should give him a shot. Our class is good but not great....and the recruiting season felt disjointed, lazy and in complete scramble at the end. Our defensive recruiting has been poor for years, all under his watch. We've had to take a lot of portal transfers to fill in gaps his staff created. Not a good look.

Leadership/Accountability. In the end though, it was all lip service because in the heat of battle on the field, he looked lost and ready to puke....same look after games in press conferences. Words mean nothing without action. He didn't smack Enos around to fix things. He didn't cut coaches lose yet before other good coaches were snatched up. He complained about players not giving it their all but kept playing them. Nothing throughout the season made any sense of direction and leadership.

I really like some of the kids we brought in and hope they succeed - but at the very least i hope this administration forces their hand and brings in a coach and/or staff of competent coaches to allow these kids to succeed with proper development and leadership.

That said:
Manny, prove me wrong! Show everyone this year was a fluke and you have what it takes to be a true leader at this U. Make the difficult decisions and hire a legit staff. Friendships (or fear) cannot hold this program back. It's not fair to the kids putting their trust and future in their hands.

Enos and FIU will likely get Manny fired

He has one shot to fire Enos and hire his replacement before year 2 or he's done

If Enos wasn't so terrible calling plays, we would have at least 9 wins this year and people would be crowning Manny for his great first year

Sad stuff but Manny is the one that hired Enos

Manny will get 4 years, and will be fired with a 25-25 record.

anyone with a brain can see manny doesn't run a defense with 3 linemen, nor does he call that stupid delayed blitz anymore.

neither one of those two can be refuted

this defense has NEVER been this bad before baker came on board.

and who gives a fck if he got fired from texas, you've probably been fired from multiple car washes and dish washing jobs but I don't think any more of you than I already do.

look homie, i see you got 3 posts and you're a fcking idiot on his sad excuse of a period, but use what's left of that brain of yours and delete your account. Go buy your boyfriend some flowers and maybe you two can get back together before valentines day.

He's fighting an uphill battle every step of the way, just like every coach will after him.

Let's look at the facts.

We haven't been a prominent program since any of our potential recruits have been cognizant.

We don't compete for national championships, let alone conference championships.

We don't have a loyal or big fanbase, in fact the fanbase is dwindling as what's there to be a fan of if you didn't go to school here or weren't from our glory days?

We don't offer a big traditional type of college campus environment. Our players aren't revered the way they are at the big schools. Oh, we've got SOBE, so what? These players are a small fish in a big pond there. Do we want a team full of players who came here so they can live it up in SOBE?

We have nice facilities, but are more on the level of UCF and USF than FSU or UF, nevermind all the other competition we have for recruits.

We aren't financially set. We have some money, but we'll never compete for top tier coaches that are established so we'll always be looking for the next up and comer. That trickles down to assistants, support staff, etc.

The gap is growing, not getting smaller. The one thing we have is talent around us, but how do you sell it to them? You want to go play wherever, your friends and family can now tune in every weekend via television or the net. While it isn't the same, video calls can close the distance.

These locals aren't even loyal to their teammates and schools, changing schools on a whim. Why would they be loyal to us?

I know everyone wants a return, but I'm skeptical it'll ever happen. No way it does on the level it did before. It's cute to say, we only care about national championships, but that ignores the reality of who we've become and are. A chance every 5 to 10 years is as realistic as it gets today in the modern game. Our run, it's ancient history.

So will he get it done? Seems unlikely. What is getting it done here though? It's better than what we did this year. Should be challenging for the Coastal for sure. Say we do that yearly, I'm sure many here will want more. So you get rid of the guy and get whomever. Odds are he won't do much better. The odds aren't in our favor. This isn't the early 80's where we're ahead of the game changing the way it's played. Maybe we'll luck into that guy though. B

meh, losing hope fast, but this is college football and turnarounds can happen fast. All it would take is a 9-10 win season to get this things trending in the right direction. It all depends on how he learns from his first year as a HC, he seems like a smart guy. He is still the guy who came in and changed our defense and improved every year. So hopefully Manny can smarten up and make the changes that must be made to make those improvements.

I’m tired of people acting like 9-10 wins is a big achievement.

I honestly can’t stand how people still slurp the 2017 season like it was some big achievement by Richt.

Lol. Look at Hornfans to see the **** he ran as Texas DC.

Manny was overrated as Miami DC. And he probably didn’t run some of his stupidest stuff because Richt told him not to.

Honestly, Diaz probably is the DC now more than ever before. He doesn’t even have Richt to tell him not to do the stupid **** he did at Texas.
