Do we see more 3-4 defense next year with Vernon leaving?

With our DT depth and the fact we have bigger and stronger (albeit less explosive) ends, I have to think we will be giving more 3-4 looks out of necessity. Plus, the fact we recruited a ton of LBs the past couple of years could mean a shift in philosophy (remember the coaches saying "players first and then plays"?).

This was my point. I don't think we will play the 3-4 exclusively, but a lot more than last year.

The opponents we play and certain situations will dictate if we'll play more 3-4 or not.

It would make sense to see it more often. Like someone said, it looks like we are going to (finally) have some depth at LB and none at DT.

Depth at LB? Where is this depth you speak of? We don't have more than 3-4 linebackers that have even seen the field besides special teams.
