I do remember Golden saying this in the press conference after he was hired. Not sure if anything has changed since then.

We've had the same look, same non-assignments, same attitude for years with the 4-3.

I apologize for this analogy, but all through history, the great masters of warfare, separated by nation, continent, and even millennia state time and again that a good defense MUST be an offensive (attacking) defense.

By alternating our 'looks,' we can show one thing and do another, but the bottom line is to have an aggressive, attacking defense.

And that's more easily enabled with a 3-4.

really? Because he is his best when he goes after the QB and I think he will do even better standing up as a Will than at DE. His size and speed will transition well to the NFL IMO. I think he had a very good season this year considering everything that happened.

Because he can play that position. Saban was recruiting him as a outside linebacker in a 3-4.

The 3-4 requires a huge NG and 2 285- 300lbs de's usually and 265lb's lb's or whatever. We don't have the personel to run a 3-4 especially at LB. I don't understand these baseless claims.
