Do we need guys like Thomas?

I think we need more Alpha dogs in the lockeroom to keep people like Thomas and all these other diva WR who want to leave in check. If that’s in place kids like thomas won’t be as big of an issue.

We also need the coaches to allow these alpha dogs to do there thing also

Because the offense doesn’t have an Alpha like the defense has Shaq and Jaquan.

I honestly cant blame a guy wanting more for himself than his team. Hes obviously the best thing we have on offense and all we do is throw him screens twice a game lmao. Poor coaching is why this kid left, and poor coaching is why more kids will follow suite if Mork doesn't leave!!! These kids want to win and make it to the NFL, I dont see Thomas doing either if he stays in Miami.
Stop blaming these "kids" and look at the real reason he left. Yall just mad cause he's our best WR, this kids future is not your choice!
A real coach would do whatever it takes to keep the best player on the team, but Richt is to stubborn and big headed to change. He'd rather fail than compromise and change that offense.

OK, cool. But none of this justifies leaving his teammates before the season even ends. This mentality goes way beyond sports with youth and is a major problem.

And seriously he left for NFL dreams but rumored to go to ****hole Illinois? Their passing offense is worse than ours, 119 of 130 teams.

Just man up, finish the season and say hey I'm not feeling it here and look to transfer. There is no justification for quitting on your teammates. Sadly, this is the 3rd time he's done so in his short career.

You think an NFL team is just going to overlook that?

Richt never coached at Miami where there are the majority of the SFL kids on the roster or kids that are a little edgy!! Richt has suspended just about all the Qbs on the team. What he's done in georgia or where else he's been before he got to Miami means nothing to me. The talent is different here with most from SFL! And with that comes a different attitude....a little more aggressive by nature! It's different for Richt as well coming into less choir boyish personalities as a whole!

So, just with his coaching style that he refuses to change with the attitude and nature of what he has inherited on the team means that he really can't relate to the the talent and the aggressive athletes that need more then his vanilla style he has input for 3 years!! Neither does he want to listen to constructive criticism to date! If he changed things up to match what he has on the team then I would say that he could relate even if he failed trying to do so!! But the arrogant coach refuses to do so!! I don't need another year of the same sh^&t to know his BS is not working and that he can't relate to the players he has inherited on the team!
You do know that he coached a ton of South Florida kids at UGA and at FSU. He knows the attitude very well.

Actually I think that’s part of the problem. That IS the way you handle it but kids these days can’t handle it. That’s a problem with kids not coaches. This kid has had it handled “differently “ his whole life and that’s partly to blame for who he is now.
My guess is that the kids had a hectic life, without much security or peace in it, And that’s why he’s so fragile. We know all star athletes are coddled, that’s nothing new.

I’m not saying don’t discipline the kid. I’m saying do it in a way that’s constructive. Saban, and other coaches, talk a lot about psychology and how to motivate different players.. that’s all about figuring out how to get the best out of individuals. That’s the job of a coaching staff, to get the best out of these kids.

Berating a fragile player in front of his teammates is not how to get the best out of him.

This. This event didn't just happen out of the blue. This was building up for a long time. Remember the rumors that he was thinking of transferring last year? It's the coaches job to manage the players and situations like this. Especially important when it involves your best player. Richt has botched and mismanaged the roster, the QB position, and the season in general as bad as possible. Why would anyone think he didn't mismanage this situation as well? At this point I'm not giving him the benefit of doubt.
Yes! Thank u.

You need to butch up. That new baby has made you soft!

LOL. It doesn’t matter that he got more targets than others in this **** heap offense. It matters that he didn’t get ENOUGH.

This offense is a toilet. And it’s run by guys who don’t know how to lead and get the most out of their charges. I can’t blame the players for boiling over after going through this nightmare season.

Why ZERO responsibility on JT's shoulders, man?!? Its all "coaches shoulda done this, coaches gotta treat his fragile a-s this way, etc". Wtf! How bout some culpability on the kid who has been a quitting diva b-tch since he was in HS? You're ok with a kid causing dissent in the lockerroom, showing up late for **** and then laying into the staff when they call him out?

For fvck sake, man, the richt hatred around here has turned into total blinded tunnel vision.

He is not a criminal. Never had any off-the-field issues here. Never been suspended. Played hurt. Did what he was asked. Richt simply doesn't understand these kids anymore. The junction boys crap doesn't work these days - right or wrong. You need to figure out how to deal with them and harness the attitude for the good. Richt doesn't appear to be able to do that.

None of us really knows all that happened. Seriously doubt even the players know the full extent of both sides of this issue.

I do know that JT was extremely talented and had not been publicly called out for problems before.

I also know that I wish that this could have been resolved in a much different way. I also understand the importance of having team discipline above all.

Having said all that I reserve judgment until I have a lot more facts and can only say that regardless of who's at fault.....this hurts!!

Your statement is incorrect. He’s had issues with being late, missing practice and clashing with his coaches.

Wow, he should definitely be kicked off the team and publicly humiliated for those violent, criminal transgressions.

Come on Go Canes, these are 18-22 year old kids. They think they know everything. They think they are the center of the universe. You need a coach and a staff that knows how to deal with them. Not every single player responds to the dictator-type socratic method of coaching.

If you can't handle the way kids are now you shouldn't be paid tons of money to handle kids. You figure out what motivates your workforce to achieve maximum results and do it. management 101.
So you advocate catering to divas and allowing them to be disrespectful just because they are good? You think Saban would allow his kids to show up late to team functions without reprocussions and lip off to coaches? Absolutely not.

Kid made a stupid decision. He’s obviously got problems, and needs to be disciplined.

I’m just saying do it In a way that’ll be constructive for the player and the team. Dugans did the opposite.
You dont know that. How do you know this hadnt been festering for a long time well before this final incident? Most signs point to the fact it had been. They disciplined him the week prior for being late and having a bad attitude by not starting him in Blacksburg. Yet he comes back and does the same **** the following week. You don't let a player, ANY PLAYER!, disrespect coaches and call then personal insults. Period. Its amazing how many of you are making excuses for JT4.
