BYU wasn’t in. They were outside the top 10. If the Tuesday rankings were the last ranking, BYU wouldn’t have been in the playoff. Not the same situation.

Even though others are saying no way I agree with you. The committee chairman himself said idle teams and teams playing in CG's can still move up or down. With two losses of Alabama gets crushed I think they could drop behind Miami. A two spot drop isn't crazy. As far as people saying you shouldn't be punished for a CG game, well BYU says hello. Yeah I know they were at 11:00 and out of it anyways, but playing in that game eliminated them officially before anything else happened.
