I saw that. Heck, I put up with Todd because he is a Cane so no reason to not vote for a Cane or not vote for a nole.

I watch sports to watch sports not hear some dem or repub preach. If I want that just turn on Fox or CNN. So no, just football please.

Semper Canes!!!

There have been several football coaches who have run for office in the past and they usually don't do as well as they expected....Tom Osborne is probably the most notable exception but he was the HC of the sole Div1 program in the state and he was not a particularly opinionated person with regards to politics, religion and culture so it was easier for him.... Conversely, I can see many Roll tide types not wanting to vote for him simply because of who he worked for and represented.

*sigh*
Somebody always take the bait...

Not sure the question is limited to former coaches or players but what about former actors, farmers, astronauts, army generals, business men, reality show hosts, or person of any other walk of life that chooses to run for public office? Do those professions mix with politics? Why not?

And I would rather have someone that made a living doing something other than politics run for office than a career politician whose only desire is to be of self service to his career longevity. You may not necessarily get competence, but at least you are likely to get more honesty with the former.
