Do Mirabal/Mario

We can argue all day but we all agree it stinks and needs to change. We don’t scare anyone with explosive plays anymore from our rb’s.

In this day and age when kids are so explosive you have to get them in space. Yes running heavy inside is great but dang man can we mix it up at all.

No wonder it’s easy to defend us. Every person on this board knows exactly what we are doing and we all have day jobs.

I’m pretty sure any DC worth two cents can figure us out real quick

I would absolutely love to better understand that perspective. Every good offense I've ever watched occasionally falls off schedule. That's the whole **** point of also occasionally being explosive.

I played in a WingT. Even within that craziness, you need misdirection and "risky" plays - buck sweep, criss cross, etc. - because putting together 15 play 80 yard drives is just not a sustainable long-term approach against any decent enough team.

It seems mfing 60s Green Bay Packers might be too risky for us... at least lately.
Extreme risk aversion is the killer of innovation. With our athletes and a schematic advantage we'd be ridiculous.

I will say this to everyone and maybe it makes folks feel better.

I met Mario when he was the OL coach the day of the UM-FIU brawl. It's a cool story and one I'm happy to share that is much longer but I'll keep it short for now. I forget exactly what I asked him--it was something about OL or running game--and the man recited for me in order the yards gained on each run play the game prior. Like, he literally went "6,19,0,1,2,4" . . . you get the picture.

If he is as maniacal as I thought he was then to be able to recite that off the top of his head, I imagine he's one ****ed off dude looking at that chart today. So I'm crossing my fingers that the running game improves the next few weeks

So they're Mario fans 1st and Miami fans second
fans of themselves first, columbus hs fans second, mario 3rd then miami in order.

This is Dawson's third year here. He's an older, established guy that has been around and can easily find a job elsewhere. The idea that Mario/Mirabal are stepping on his toes to the degree suggested on this board as it relates to the run game strains credulity. Otherwise, he'd be gone. Because no one wants someone looking over their shoulder the way folks on this board are suggesting.
I disagree to an extent. Humans are comfort seeking habitual creatures. If he got a massive pay increase he was probably willing to make some concessions with one of them being the run scheme. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I could definitely see someone (even a consummate professional) making such a concession for a large pay bump.

Lol @ “but ultimately that doesn’t matter”. That is ******* HILARIOUS. Can’t wait for Mallory and the butterball no agility and twitch IMG RB to get here to do the exact same thing. Fun times.
we just got beat by the team the img running back is committed to and they ran the ball exceptionally...buddy might be like **** ths sh*t....

Mallory is perfect for what they want to do which is get 4 yards.

I already stated it no need for us to be recruiting rbs under 205 pds coming in this scheme.

Dawson said it himself.

I stand co

Does anyone have the actual comments? A tweet by an unknown dude/s on twitter summarizing someone else that may or may not have been taken out of context isn't evidence.
He said it in a Monday presser. I think you have to trust that all of the people saying it, heard it.

they have no counters is what theyre telling you. a shame because this team could win a title. still can if they get right, but this weekend wont tell us ****. they'll dominate Stanford and tell us we told you so and then it goes back to SMU. SMU is gonna try and get us on quick to force us out of ball control. let's see what offensive counters we have then.

They have outside runs in the playbook. They have reverses. They have made a concious effort to trying powering between the tackles. Its not coincidence we led the country in between the tackle runs last season and probably does again this season. Its their philosophy whomever decided , its the staff's strategy. It sucks when you committ turnovers and lose the field position battle.

And that's where my issue is, where is the ability to go off script if its not working for a particular game?

Luckily, I’m not petty enough to bump posts that our stated our run game wouldn’t drop off because “wE lOsT a sEvEnTh RoUnD bAcK”. I knew it’d drop off, that was obvious because of both Martinez and Ward/passing game but it has been BAD. However you want to slice it, whatever you want to contribute it too. The results thus far are BASURA.

This isn’t even a debate anymore . Mario and Dawson constantly mention Mirabal has a big hand in the run game. In which he does. Why is this even being asked at this point ?
Plus they already gave it to you for your profile picture.

this is supposed to be an elite OL and we cant run the ball well at all bc of the stubbornness from the coaches. Lville sure looked good running the ball all over us
