@Dmoney, Pete Ariz, this loss tonight

I was told last night in the game thread that the mighty midget was in charge of calling the running game…..so is it Dawson or is it Marybelle…..I always thought that Dawson was calling the running plays but guys with more knowledge than me ( which isn’t saying much) said it was the Midget….if the Midget is calling plays then this A and B gap stuff makes since cause he has the same mentality as Mario in that that his fantastic line can move anyone off the LOS and it’s not necessary to run anything but those dive plays and then there is the fact Mario has watched this garbage for a few years now through different OC’s and hasn’t made any attempt to get it changed..
Dawson has said it. Mirabal is the run game coordinator... Merritt determines the personnel usage

I could be wrong but I believe the run game coordinator game plans the types of runs and blocking schemes. But the OC is the one who actually calls the play sheet on Gameday.

We fell for a ton of @DMoney lies again:

- best OL in the country. This group can pass block but the run blocking is bad and the penalties are crippling. Our Stone Age scheme doesn’t help but overall this unit is good, not elite
- jojo trader - lol
- Lofton - lol again
- Toure - he’s regressed mightily from week 1. A solid player but not a game changer as he was advertised to be
- the defensive backs - D$ consistently called this group the best in the country. They’re better than last year but this unit has been abused at times. OJ looked better as a freshman. Lucas has been a little underwhelming given the hype

The most annoying thing is that I literally think it doesn't even work to our Olines strength. If you honestly believe you have one of the best Olines in the country and believe in straight bully ball, And have a good QB what logic is there to not spread **** out and FORCE defense to make tougher decisions. If we believe we have better guys across the board you should put them in a position to beat their opposition 1on1. The dogpile doesn't even give them that opportunity
Been saying this same thing! I love teams that have wide splits and make teams have to defend the whole field

Went right through his hands. Not a great throw but any P4 starter should catch that.
It hit his hand, not both. It was high and away. He’s running a crossing pattern at full speed and the ball is thrown 3-5 feet behind him! he had to stop and try and make a once in a lifetime catch! Show me ANY p4 starter making that grab!

Moore dropped that third down pass that was picked off and was nullified by the roughing the passer. Probably a reason we don’t see him.

Go rewatch. Pass was way behind and high as he was running a crosser. You don’t see many NFL guys make that catch and without a different angle, we don’t know if it was even catchable. I’m not saying every pass needs to be perfect but high and behind on crossers aren’t acceptable even with a 6’5 kid that has body control as the target.

Thank you!

Moore is raw still. he's not toney.
can't believe the staff is refusing to play Jojo for no reason. I dont get why everyone thinks he will just come out and be JS.

Toney plays Slot.

The question isn’t is he Toney? The question is who helps us the most Marion or Moore?

@Canesmia01 no call out on Marion who had an actual INT on a target to him and hasn’t helped us win! His biggest play of the year was a PI call vs ND. He very much could have broke up the INT but didn’t.

The question in his post was about Moore I’m not saying Merion has been good. If Jojo is not playing this team needs Moore to step up as WR3 imo and leave 0 as more of a gadgetguy. I thought it could have happened off the bye but this staff must have reservations somewhere. I’ll rewatch the play maybe I’m remembering it wrong.

I think Marion is a little raw. He could have fought better for that int

My point- if Marion is raw than Moore should be getting more snaps as his issue is he is also a little raw. Give me the 6’5 WR with body control ups.

He’s been lying to us for years. Yet people continue to suck him off.

This

If you spend a ton of resources building an elite OL with top notch coaching then why the **** do you need TEs and RBs helping them out all the time

I cannot see a scenario where a top running back would want to play in this caveman offense. Sure we run the ball a lot but we do not run creative run plays that allow the running backs to flourish. Its all between the tackles with zero creativity in the blocking schemes.

We did run some outside trap run plays against UF but not since. Our running backs rarely gets clean blocks into the second level. That's on the scheme, especially given the quality of O linemen we have.

The running game in Mario/Dawson's offense is best suited for a high school linebacker who is too slow to play LB at the college level. Convert to running back and play for the Canes. If you're a top running back, stick with your commitment to Texas, Ole Miss or any other Power Conference team.

Spoken from the perspective of a life-long Canes fan.
