DMoney, do the coaches recognize the one weakness so far?

This weekend will be a dogfight. Thriw the 5 interceptions and the record out the window. Just find a way to win If we get a chance, i wanna lay the wood to them. But just find a way to win

To OP'S point. If we get Florida's best shot, and I know we will, just limit those big plays to 2 at most and then just be us. If we do that, we will win.

DJ Lagway threw only three interceptions against LSU, the Gators might have scored an upset. That's a positive, right? He instead threw five in a 20-10 loss, but the Florida defense still gave the Gators a chance. It has allowed only 38 points in three games.

The offense has scored only 26 in two FBS games. Opponents aren't afraid of the run game, receivers aren't getting open, and Lagway is developing some pretty extreme tendencies in passing to specific areas of the field (as evidenced by all the green "completion" dots along the right sideline on this chart):

Four of Lagway's six 2025 interceptions have come on third-and-long, and a fifth came in a last-ditch drive against LSU. He's trying desperately to make something happen, and it's bringing out some terrible tendencies.

Miami quarterback Carson Beck has been good, and he has gotten the help Lagway hasn't, from his offensive line and his receivers. But the Florida defense could make this one interesting if Lagway can take what he's given by a Miami defense that ranks 83rd in yards allowed per dropback.

Current line: Miami -7.5 | SP+ projection: Miami by 10.6 | FPI projection: Miami by 7.2

I mentioned the DBs getting caught looking in the backfield a couple of times last week, but the defense looks to have cleaned that up vs USF. As far as Fitzgerald...the day he becomes a reliable tackler (and yeah, I have noticed some hesitation to really throw his body in there up to this point), he might become the best safety in college football. His instinct for reading the quarterback and nose for the football are next level.

DBs getting caught looking in the backfield. It's not just the QB breaking contain but also at least a couple of times in the pocket. Cannot be perfect and cannot stop everything but this seems like something they have to contain.

1. Thomas in ND game which almost cost us game in 4th quarter
2. 2-3 times against BCC
3. Poyser on slow mesh against USF
4. Damari on broken rollout against USF
If you think the coaches haven’t noticed that and are not coaching the heck out of that to get that cleaned up in practice, I don’t know what to tell you. We have to remember these are teenagers or at the oldest in their early 20s. There isnt a magic pill for this stuff, but I think it’s something they will get cleaned up.

In my experience, when coaches review film, they usually ignore the most explosive plays from the opponent and focus more on what you did well. That way, you don't hurt anyone's feelings trying to overcorrect things. Some things are bigger than sports.
You described exactly what the Miami Dolphins do!!!!

Do people think the coaches don’t notice blatantly obvious issues?

This the same board that thinks Dawson doesn’t know what tight OL splits do 3 years later so…
We used to call every running play from the shotgun a draw but now it’s all just called a ā€œdiveā€ so we’re making progress.
