Coker was nowhere even close to being a decent coach.
He completely ****ed our program after what he inherited
While I fully understand he inherited a stacked roster… so his first two years he did exactly what he’s supposed to do. Compared to what I saw from our other two first time HCs we hired I don’t think they take us to two Nattys, go 11-2 and 9-3 the first 4 years.

Maybe my idea of him is more compared to how bad they were than how good he was.

We lost to Ohio State because the team came in thinking they were hot ****, TrumpyCane thinks Coker did a terrible job

Hoping we continue to see late season Mario who coached free, was clearly having more fun, and didn’t take his foot off the gas. If he reverts back to trying to be Saban-light we will have more uncomfortable games. Send a message week 1 on the road against a conference team we should blow out. Make them give up at the half.

Fortunately, Mensah doesn't play for Coker or Shannon ... or Many Diaz any longer. So he could care less which was the worst coach at Miami.

Dang Diaz had a major chance with Jalen Hurts till saban got wind of the rumors.

Manny wins the ACC with mensah only to get his lunch money took from Mario.

Sheesh.

A good coach would not have won the lottery and then set all the cash on fire.
He was not a good coach...those teams were going to the natty with or without him.

You really think that anyone else could've came in and WOULD NOT have taken that group of guys to 2 nattys? Thats naivety at its finest.

Coker couldn't manage the depth chart. He literally had the pick of the litter with recruits, he couldn't eye talent if it was right in front of him. And when his flaws started to show...his solution was to purge the entire staff.

He was a horrible coach. He was the beginning of the travesty that has been Miami Hurricane for the last 20+ years.

If all you know is wins and losses, than you really just dont know.

Reading is fundamental… that’s not what I said.

I compared him as a first time HC and what he did and our other two first time HCs (Randy and Manny) I don’t think THEY would have done that.

Try again.

Either way...YES Randy and/or Manny could've had pillow talk as the HC with those teams and nothing would've changed.

All 3 of them sucked, but only one of them got the keys to a Lambo and drove that ***** off a cliff.

Coker is right up there also. We had an atrocious run of coaches between Butch and Mario. The only one who didn't suck was Richt, who was just past his prime.

Richt (even with a medical issue at some point in there) was still easily the best since Butch. He also brought a sense of legitimacy to the program that we desperately needed.

Mario is not going to ‘run up the score’ to win Mensah Heisman votes.

He doesn’t have to.

Mensah can bring back much of the explosiveness Cam provided. Ward was truly special, but I think Mensha may have a better team around him and benefits from Miami having what should bean outstanding defense.

In 2024 Miami had to prepare for a shootout nearly every game.

In 2025, the defense exponentially improved, but the offense was limited as Mario still tried to squeeze the ball and shorten the game. No disrespect to Carson, but he didn’t bring the big play like Cam did.

In 2026, the defense can be trusted, and hopefully Mario understands he’s not doing his team or himself any favors by playing physical and violent while holding a 7 or 3 point lead late in the third quarter, against a team you should, on paper, beat by three or four touchdowns.

I’m hoping to see plenty of fourth quarters with Nickel, Judd, or Coleman running the offense.

As @k9cane loves to quote Bill Walsh, Mario and Miami should want to ‘establish points’.
