It’s time Miami really push a Heisman campaign for someone.

And because we play in this god forsaken conference… Mario will have to do something he hasn’t been a fan of. Running up the score and stat padding some.

Whether is Mensah or Mali he’s got to do it.
Miami absolutely has to push a real Heisman campaign in 2026 if the season starts hot. The national exposure is there now, especially after Cam Ward’s breakout put the spotlight back on the program.

And honestly, the path is there for Miami to win the ACC, get back to the ACC Championship Game, and legitimately contend for the Playoff.

The schedule sets up favorably too. In the ACC, Miami should have more roster talent than almost everyone they face. The biggest true measuring-stick game on the schedule is probably Notre Dame in South Bend. That’s the matchup that can define the national perception of the season.

For the Heisman angle specifically, Mario Cristobal probably does have to evolve a little strategically:

* Leave starters in longer
* Keep the offense aggressive late
* Let the QB stack passing TDs and explosive numbers
* Avoid the conservative fourth-quarter approach that can suppress national award momentum

That’s especially true because ACC perception nationally still trails the SEC and Big Ten. Miami likely won’t get the same benefit of the doubt, so style points matter.

If Darian Mensah becomes the guy:

* The Cam Ward comparisons
* Big passing totals
* Primetime standalone games
* Miami winning 10–11 games

could absolutely create a Heisman narrative.

And if Malik Wilson explodes as a dual-threat weapon, Miami could market him as one of the most electric players in the country too.

The key is:

* Beat Notre Dame
* Avoid a random ACC upset
* Dominate the games Miami is supposed to dominate
* Get back to Charlotte for the ACC title game

If that happens, the national hype machine around Miami will get very loud very quickly.

Hopefully he learned and just scorches this ****hole conference.

Neck and neck imo. I just look at these pressers and see the blatant lack of accountability and the damage he did on the way out.
Idk if it’s by choice or not but it seems ole Randy hasn’t been provided the opportunity to sniff another P5 HC job. Manny will get another job after this one.

Appreciate most of the original post. I don't think we needs to leave the starters in longer. We need to score early and often so we're up by 4 scores midway through the third quarter. Then let Nickel get in there and add another TD or 2.

We are so deep in talent. IMO, we need BOTH to earn style points in winning AND to rotate a lot of players on the field.

He was not up for the job. But far from the worst IMO. I'd say Randy Shannon was the worst of my lifetime.
Coker is right up there also. We had an atrocious run of coaches between Butch and Mario. The only one who didn't suck was Richt, who was just past his prime.
