DJ Lagway gets special treatment, squad is resentful????

DJ with that thousand yard stare.

Honestly, I think he’s broken mentally and physically. If he’s smart at all, he takes a redshirt and hits the portal the second they fire Billy
He looked absolutely fried mentally in the game.

There were multiple Seam routes that if he simply looked downfield would've been a large 40+yd gain or a TD.

Defensively, we gave him the middle of the field on a down by down basis, he just didn't know where his progressions were & was basically counting Mississippi's in his head before each drop back.

Part of that was our pass rush was affecting his timing, but the other part was he was just dazed & confused out there.

Unfortunately we know that look.

Won’t be a popular thing to say but Lagway seems like a good kid. I don’t want anyone on UiF to succeed but I don’t exactly want them to fail like that either. He’s got an abysmal head coach and their schedule is borderline insane. That team is waking up beat to **** today physically

Would not be surprised if he jumped in the portal at the end of the season.

Heck, if Napier was fired on Monday Florida players have 30 days to jump in the portal. DJ could say “**** it. I’m out of here” and take a redshirt for the season as he’s only played four games. Many coaches would consider this a quitter’s attitude but someone will take a chance on him. He would have many opportunities to choose from. A quarterback-whisperer head coach would have to rebuild him from the ground up, but his skillet might make it worth it.

I see the key question as, “is he salvageable?“

He has physical tools, I don’t think anybody would question that, but does he have the temperament and the mental processing ability to actually be a successful quarterback at the higher levels of college, and forget about the pros right now. We’re talking about can he be a good to very good quarterback at the higher levels in the college game.

I have to honestly say I haven’t seen anything that would make me confident that he could be salvaged into a top-notch player. Like you’re saying, maybe a quarterback whisperer can fix him, but boy it would have to be from the ground up. Because I’m not seeing him make any kind of reads out there, or going through progressions in the slightest.

Yep, that kid is already broken and they haven’t even gotten into the meat of their season yet.

I said it before the season started: It’s one thing to flash as a Freshman when there are zero expectations you have to meet, and no one is really depending on you to win games. Sophomore year - Big expectations, pressure to win, and Defensive coaches have a whole season of tape on you to study. They know your every tendency and weakness.

Add in the fact that he was hurt most of the off season, and his Sophomore Slump is going to be brutal.

I agree. He needs to leave UF and rehab. The tools are there but he may be mentally broken.

Watching him on the sidelines
His look and demeanor reminds of kyle wright
All world talent but just broken mentally
