My theory is that Coach Kool wants to further burnish his reputation for developing DL by having as few as possible on the roster, especially guys that were highly-ranked recruits. That's why we only signed one DL last week. If he can coach up guys like Fines and Martin, his reputation will go through the roof.

People on this board are schizophrenic. There is no confirmation that DJ is even thinking about transferring. He follows a few guys on twitter and goes back to Cali for a few days and now posters are calling him soft and saying we don’t need him, he’s overrated, etc. it’s a clown show here sometimes.

Keep pounding that drum even though he skipped a game to go home, D$ told you he's thinking about leaving, and he started following a bunch of coaches from a program that he said he was going to flip to toward the end of his recruitment.

He might wind up staying, but to act like there's no smoke here is tomfoolery.

I agree with many of your takes, but I think this is an urban myth that has somehow been propagated and has turned into fact. There may have been some random message board chatter like this by porsters, but there’s nothing out there about DJ even hinting that he was going to flip. He was solid. Pete even had an article about how he was a solid and it was all DJ talked about.

As far as now, anything’s possible, but D$ is the only one that’s said anything worth noting. And it was somewhat nebulous.

That’s no internet chatter. I remember that last year too. DJ flirted with Washington right up to the end. I remember that clearly, and I actually thought he’d flip.

I think it was a UW recruit Facebook group and he said he was coming. There were screen caps posted on this board (or maybe the WEZ).

I think later he said he’d been “hacked” or it was a “fake” profile or something like that.

Whatever shaky excuse he gave, he reaffirmed his commitment not too long after and there were no more shenanigans from that point forward.

Yes, it was something to this effect and it was right after his Washington trip. It was so much of a concern coach Kool flew to Sacramento to meet with him soon after this and shortly before signing day. That’s when his recruitment was sealed.

Here's what we know as of early Saturday:

– InsideTheU reached out to Johnson late Friday about the Facebook post. He told us that his account 'got hacked' by someone. Is that true? It could be, but we're not entirely sure that's the case. Johnson has since changed his profile picture and deleted the post. This could be a situation where he tipped his hat a little too early and didn't realize that the word would get out about what could be his intentions to flip to Washington. It could also be a case where someone actually did hack into his account, although the odds of someone knowing to post that message in a group of Huskies diehard fans seems a like a stretch right now.

– 247Sports Washington Insider Ruth Robins has logged a Crystal Ball pick in favor of the Huskies. She has maintained the past couple of days that things are looking good for Washington based upon what she's hearing. We haven't heard anything positive or negative from Miami's end regarding Johnson. We can however report that Hurricanes defensive line coach Craig Kuligowski has been in contact with Johnson and is expected to see him in two weeks when the NCAA recruiting contact period opens.

– Johnson has been one of the most vocal Miami commits on Twitter since he gave a pledge to the program back in August, but he hasn't posted anything pro-UM since Nov. 6 which was five days before he took his trip to Washington. It need to however be noted that Johnson has followed multiple Huskies coaches and players in that same time frame.

– Should Johnson defect from Miami's class some names to know at defensive end would be Dillard three-star defensive end Jordan Wright and Garner (N.C.) High three-star defensive end Matthew Butler. Suwanee (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge Top100 defensive end Robert Beal is another prospect to keep an eye on, but he's believe to be solid on his pledge to Georgia.
