I understand that this is blatant racism but it's crazy to me that people still use the term "thugs" in regard to Miami

Year after year we're bottom of the country in arrests and top 10 in graduation rates. Not to mention guys like Demetrius Jackson actually making a societal difference post-football.

Unfortunately, perception becomes reality and even when you attempt to change it our outgrow it—it sticks with you.

Fact is, Canes ran amok in the 80s and early 90s—AND—Miami has always been a city with a shady element.

When you have "The U" and "The U Part 2" running on Netflix and streamable anytime—THAT is what most know about Miami. They don't follow it or care to pay attention to anything more than the headlines.

Last most outsiders remember about Miami; Nevin Shapiro and a three-year investigation. No one remembers that it ended six years ago. They probably think it was 2-3 years ago as time flies.

People need to stop worrying about what outsiders say and just focus on this program getting better.

Instead, we're fixated on changing the opinions of the unchangeable—while wasting time fighting with other fans and trying to change their personal perceptions (re: should be "back" by now .... Diaz isn't the guy to get it done ... etc.)

My takeaway is this guy thinks brats and thugs are synonyms

This guy just claimed someone was racist off of a quote from a quote from a Twitter post.... LMFAO

In other words FAIL
Whichever UNC fan said “thugs” is a racist piece of garbage using a code word which those of us who grew up in Miami going to games, such as those with Notre Dame, know very well who and what they are referring to. If you’re looking to defend that racist Carolina cuck, you’re in the wrong place.

Remember when UNC stopped trying to actually win the game last year and just kept running the ball trying to run the clock out even though they were down like 30? Mark Richt put it on cruise control and still blew out these dorks.
We blew their brains out last year. To hear their fans bleating on The Tar Pit message board you'd think they just beat Clemson.

I love it. Im trying to make Sam Howell header. **** you Sam you entitled little ***** ! We’re going to kill you & feast on your insides on the 50 yard line !

Embrace the hate. It makes winning all that sweeter.

This should be played after every TD just to **** with them

When our own fans have a dopey ill-informed opinion of our past, you can’t expect hayseed redneck kumbags to be any better.

This dude here has no clue what our 80s and 90s teams were about. They were tough and boisterous and from the grimy inner city. But they weren’t thugs either. They just whipped your *** and didn’t hesitate to tell you about it.

No one talks about how high our graduation rate was.

Why? Does not fit the paradigm of thug life.

irony of that UNC fan besides being racist is baseless. we aren't really known for being a team that quits.

Really? So you don't consider all those slides after FSU losses or giving up after the FSU game and getting blown out by a trash Whiskey team at the end of the year quitting?
I disagree about the thug comment though.

That's not anyone from the team, that is from the ubiquitous ignorant uber fan that frequent their team's message boards. We have a few too.

Shouldn't have to be pulling fan quotes to get motivated for this game.
Michael Jordan found motivation anywhere and everywhere he could. If it worked for the GOAT...

“Thug” is just about as nasty as the hated “N” word. We should just beat the crap out of this racist Terbacky Road a-hole.
