Discipline Defense

The fact that they were in max protect goes to show you that their OC knew that Baker would not be able to not blitz. He just can't help himself.
ROFL, and that's a crying shame, cause that UNC game was at least one of our 1st four games, and he already got figured out, for real with him, it only takes about until halftime, his defensive play-call tendecies are about the easiest I've ever seen.

If this defense doesn't play more disciplined, Louisville's run and short pass game will eat them up.

Satterfield is really good as designing misdirection and play-action. If the LBs aren't playing sound, it will be 1st quarter VaTech all over again.

Satterfield 2019 (UL) scores 27 against Miami in year 1. Held to 6 points under their season average.
Satterfield 2016 (AppSt) scored a season low 10 points against Miami. Held them nearly 20 points under their season average.
Dwayne Ledford 2016 (NCST-OL Coach) OL gave up 0 sacks and they scored 14 points under thier season average.
Dwayne Ledford 2019 (UL-OC/OL) gave up 3 sacks.
Lets see what Manny Diaz does this time.

That's all fine and dandy but you tell me what Hall and Bandy were doing on the play?
They were playing the coverage that was called. Hall is supposed to take the deep-out, Bandy is playing hook/curl and is supposed to carry that slot WR if he runs vertical.

We play this coverage all the time. It's just asking to get a deep-out thrown on you.

4th & 17 I'm going man-under-2-deep...I'm not leaving anybody open.

Bandy was out of position from the start and in panic chase mode.
No he wasn't. That's where he's supposed to play. We play this coverage all the time.

Watch the interception that Smith dropped against UAB. Same coverage.

Then it's a poor design by the coaches bc he's out of position. To have a slot that far away from his man in full chase mode on 4th and 17th where the defender can dictate the route so easily and Bandy can't see the ball is a Baker fail. This is 4th and 17.....not 4th and 5 where Bandy is protectig against a quick slant inside. He should be more vertical to his man, slightly offset to the inside, allowing him to drop a few steps then drive on the ball in either direction.

Yes, I know that. I was curious what his answer was going to be. That was Hall's responsibility period. I don't disagree with you. In that situation down and distance, I prefer Cvr4 under. I want everything in front of me.

After rewatching the UAB game the coaches should be drilling staying disciplined on defense. If this happens i can see us being a very good team because there were too many mental mistakes by not playing assignment football. That's what makes a great team no mental errors if players can't do so put in someone who will. Just my rant because i think its simple fixes to be a great team. Go Canes!!!
That's like asking a fat guy not to go for seconds on Thanksgiving.

Hey man, you're preaching to the choir.
But we run that coverage ALL THE TIME.

They love it apparently.
