Moore should have gotten down earlier. Clearly a targeting call and one that should have the kid sitting for more than a half.

I think it was a bang-bang type play that went terribly wrong.

I think Moore needed to give himself up sooner to avoid that kind of injury, which was primarily caused by his head hitting the ground; Stephens didn't use the crown and there was no real launch, IMHO.

I think it was also a situation where Moore wanted to make the first down marker and then tried to protect himself with a slide. He would have been better off just going head-first at the first down marker.

QBs keep trying to squeeze as much as they can out of the play with the idea that the slide rule is a shield that will protect them.

It’s like a few years ago when Pickett faked the slide knowing the defender would be playing soft to avoid hitting him.

Maybe it’s dirty. But the whole “you can’t touch me so I’m going to get even closer to you to get even more yards” goes against the spirit of the game.

people severely underestimate how fast these guys play and how quickly defenders must commit to a decision.

slow motion replay on tv is a lie and QB’s need to slide much earlier, dive instead of slide, or just take a normal hit.

I can really see both sides of it. But it was definitely a penalty. The QB has to go down earlier

Moore slid late and paid the price.

I had no issue with the defender's hit; the issue is with everything that happened afterward. He got the flag and that's penalty enough (I don't think targeting should be the call), but he should for **** sure get penalized for all the bull**** afterwards

Play is closer to bang bang than most think, however the reaction after the play by the defender was childish.

He slid too late and the guy buried him instead of backing off a bit. Both ****ed up

to me the db is coming in too low, too late so he sees moore starting to slide or he's trying to tackle him by the ankles, this is more on the db than moore

Late slide by Moore, but that defender knew what he was doing and committed to the hit to the head.

Defender was actually diving at him just as Moore started to slide. Not at all sure that's a dirty his and not the first time this has happened. It just looks awful because the QB is giving himself up

But QBs get protected too much. If youre a runner, you should be treated like every other runner in the game. Slide protection shouldn't exist.

Not a dirty hit. If this happened to your QB you would be fuming but thats a bang bang play
