This program will be dead by then. If Richt has two more seasons here, there won’t be any players left to coach and Babers would be an idiot to leave the program he built to start another 6 year reclamation project here.

No matter how bad it gets here, only a fool stays and coaches at a basketball dominant school in up State New York with no recruiting base over the chance to coach at the U, especially with that wide open offense he runs. JMO

You underestimate

- Upstate NY weather. I know from 1st hand experience. Babers also grew up and played in Paradise (Hawaii/San Diego). The transition to Miami would be fitting
- How barren Northeast football is
- Our legacy
- Our ability to pay more than Syracuse
- He will never have the talent to win a national championship at Syracuse. It’s the same reason why Mullen kept trying to leave Miss State
- Babers plans post-football

We could do a lot worse, but I want/need to see more from him. Let’s see the sustainability now that he is Syracuse teams aren’t sneaking up on opponents anymore. They have some staying power in the top 25 now. Like I said, we could do a lot worse and his offense would be fun to watch with the talent he would have here but I just wanna see more, that could just be me though.

Looking forward to seeing them in their bowl game.
2015 Syracuse total offense (before Babers): 119th overall

2016 Syracuse, year 1 w/Babers: 42nd overall

2017 Syracuse: 23rd overall

2018 Syracuse: 15th overall

Completely forgot they play Notre Dame in a couple weeks. That offense will bring problems for Notre Dame for sure. If they knock them off, then we won’t even get a chance to throw our hat in the ring for Babeds because programs will come calling for him THIS off season. Which is exactly why we shouldn’t delay the inevitable, but that’s another topic. I’ll be rooting for them big time in a couple weeks.

Plus I want to see a season of Syracuse without Dungy whose unique and makes that offense go

I was meh on Babers until I looked up his total offense numbers at Syracuse. I'm interested...along with Briles, Yost, Freeze, Leach, and Paranos.
Other thing about Babers is, for the Kendall Briles fans, Babers spent 4 years at Baylor during the heart of the Art Briles years. I can dig it.

Does the Hecht still have moles watching this site? I hope they do and I hope they're taking some of the good information back like what's in this thread and not just reporting about the negative posts.

Can we really wait two more years? It will put us back 5 more years with the recruits leaving, this sucks.

No we can't wait. Fire James, Richt (promoted to AD), Babers HC.

Easy Peasy.

Now we just need Frenk and JJ to convince Richt that this is good for everyone.

Yea I think Baber could be really good down here.

Don't forget the fact he runs an aggressive 4-3 defense to couple with that offense. (I've watch Syracuse and his scheme is very close to Manny's)

Last year Syracuse leading receiver had 105 catches 1k yards. The next guy? 89 catches 900 yards.

In 2016 Syracuse leading receiver had 94 catches. The next guy? 90 catches. The next 2 guys had 48 each.

Meanwhile we got a Jeff Thomas and he not even at 30 touches. PATHETIC.

Beat Clemson, had a chance at Clemson this year. Destroyed this FSU team we barely beat, played LSU close last year.
