So far, has any bowl-eligible team hired a coordinator except to replace coordinators who left for other jobs? I could be wrong, but even if Richt is considering it, he won't pull the trigger until after the bowl.

That doesn't satisfy me any more than anyone else. I just think that's the most likely scenario.

I've been saying this for a minute now. This admin couldn't get Al Golden to fire his DC when he was fielding one of the worst defenses in the country. Richt is running into a similar situation that Golden did, but with offense. But with Richt's resume and cache, did we really think that Blake was going to force him into changes? This is the same thing that UGA had to go through.

On the bright side, you guys need to see the big picture here. If he goes with the status quo next year, it *may* expedite his exodus from Coral Gables. Because by all accounts, it looks like the board was willing to throw serious money at OC and wanted Jon Richt and Searles gone. Richt would've been afforded more time had he made the changes.

Golden had at least a decent offense during his tenure. Manny inherited a defense that was adapted to a 3-4 and he ran the exact opposite scheme. So the staff had to work on S&C and in his first year, Diaz had the defense in the top 25. Two years later, it was the #2 ranked total defense in the nation. Golden's scheme worked against Cinicinnatti and UNC because we out talented them by a good margin. Once he faced a team with equal or better talent (FSU at the time), his defense shows its glaring holes. That was his m.o. in Temple, and it was the same thing here.

Well, let me ask you one simple question. How hard would it be for a HC that is calling plays to remove himself from that position so he can hire an OC? I personally think it's pretty easy. We aren't paying him 4 mil a year to be cowardly.

That's a valid point, the HC would also have to admit that there is a problem.

LOL @ comparing Dillingham to TB. In terms of understanding offensive football, Kenny at age 28 is light years ahead of TB.

So, where is the job opening? I'm certainly not going to argue that we don't need a real OC. Right now, Richt is HC and the play caller. If he stops calling plays, there is still no open position. Someone has to leave for another job or get fired. I don't believe either will happen before the end of our season.
