Pete was a dude who knew Deon Bush in high school. He used that to gain status as an “insider” in recruiting. For a little while, he had contacts and got some predictions right.
The last few years he was wrong more than he was right. He hid this by using bull**** vague language like “stay tuned...” lol
He never was a football guy, never played a down himself, and knew nothing about scouting talent.
He a RS freshman bro..acting like he came in on some Patrick Johnson (Peterson now) type hype
The problem is so far he's been playing like a kid that doesn't know how to play the position. This was not the first example. He's looked confused or disinterested on the field many times. Even in the same GT game, he made multiple basic, fundamental mistakes. On the long TD he gave up, he had decent coverage...then decided to slow down and look back to see if the ball had been thrown, at which point the receiver gained an extra few steps on him and was able to catch the ball uncontested. Those are mistakes that sophomores in high school shouldn't be making, much less college players.Ya
y’all really dogging kids for not being great during their second year in the program, that’s the sad ****. Ridiculous expectations as a fan base. Ivey has been in position at CB multiple times, he’s just come up short. He’s still young with plenty of snaps ahead of him.
Pete was just some guy, you guys treated him like he was some super scout
yeah but he’s a RS Fresh. Personally I don’t get to caught up in star ratings unless a kid is physically off the charts. DJ **** sure wasn’t. But you look at how Mike Jackson looked..or **** Tyson Campbell not getting burn rn at UGA..let these kids developWasn't a Patrick Johnson / Peterson, but was a 4-star out of Homestead who was supposed to be better than his recent effort. Out of position, taking plays off, poor tackling technique and looking pretty heartless seven games in.
Gave up 14 points by himself on two bad plays against Georgia Tech in a game that was 21-21 after four quarters.
Ivey was a four star with SEC offers from teams like Auburn.
Let his career play out. I will say I expected much more this season.
Didn't a current staffer tell you to expect him to breakout and be All-ACC caliber this season?
Let's all put the blame here on where it should really be... Mike Rumph. This is not Ivey's fault.
Yep.
