DIdnt Pete ariz say DJ ivey was the truth ?

Just goes to show you our recruiting has been atrocious as we have a guy nowhere near ready lining up as our #2 CB 50% of downs.

And it's only going to get a whole **** of a lot worse...

Wasn't a Patrick Johnson / Peterson, but was a 4-star out of Homestead who was supposed to be better than his recent effort. Out of position, taking plays off, poor tackling technique and looking pretty heartless seven games in.

Gave up 14 points by himself on two bad plays against Georgia Tech in a game that was 21-21 after four quarters.

The problem is so far he's been playing like a kid that doesn't know how to play the position. This was not the first example. He's looked confused or disinterested on the field many times. Even in the same GT game, he made multiple basic, fundamental mistakes. On the long TD he gave up, he had decent coverage...then decided to slow down and look back to see if the ball had been thrown, at which point the receiver gained an extra few steps on him and was able to catch the ball uncontested. Those are mistakes that sophomores in high school shouldn't be making, much less college players.

yeah but he’s a RS Fresh. Personally I don’t get to caught up in star ratings unless a kid is physically off the charts. DJ **** sure wasn’t. But you look at how Mike Jackson looked..or **** Tyson Campbell not getting burn rn at UGA..let these kids develop

Let's all put the blame here on where it should really be... Mike Rumph. This is not Ivey's fault.

Rumph ain't the reason why he panics when the ball is about to get there. Both him and Blades are in position to make the play A LOT, Blades plays through the hands while Ivey panics and just raises his hands.
 
There needs to be some more competition at the CB position, you have Blades, Bandy, and Ivey and about 30% of the time all 3 are playing, the only people behind them are the 2 freshmans who seem not be ready yet. Hopefully UM can recruit a Juco who can come in and compete or the freshmans take that next step next year to really push for pt.

He screwed the pooch on that fake punt, Bolden at the LOS was waving his arms and yelling signaling it was a fake but Ivey let the receiver run right by him.
