Didn’t know we got second play with one second on the clock

That close to the endzone with that many guys in coverage, you can't stare down receivers like that. Jeff Thomas was literally triple covered because of the stare down.

Horrible play design. Horrible execution.
Yup. Pass to Perry's right. Thomas tried to hit the seam. Their was no seam.
Jt was bracketed tight on the play with the LB drifting underneath. He knocked the ball down.
Perry stared him down the whole way.

You guys who didn't see it didn't miss much.
As I was walking out I said I would have preferred the game ended on the previous play.

After watching that last play there was nobody open gtfoh putting that on Perry... blame Enos for the call bc I don’t see any way for that ball to get in the end zone.
The comment above was re the first losing play before espn cut away, Krazy. Perry had Deejay for 7. The final play, I agree. No one was scoring no matter what. The play was useless. And as I said above, I've grown convinced it was designed as a predetermined no read pass to Jeff.

The officiating in this game must have been given lots of green from some higher authority to this game the way they did. Utter incompetence,if not bias.

Yep. 4th and goal play in the 1st half (Perry rolling to his right) had no chance. Two chances at the end of regulation and neither play had a chance. Enos sucks.
Sucks beyond belief. We threw 4 straight times there from 1st and goal inside the 5. Even tho we were running fine! It's not like we were up against some strong run D. You pound the rock in there. And then Enos just basically abandons the run game entirely once we got it close (two scores) with plenty of time left and all of the momentum. But yet in stroke of pure genius he decides to continue calling nonstop playaction passes even though we AREN'T running. Smh. Legendary incompetence.

I watched the second to last play again.
The LB had an eye on DJ.
It would have been close but I think DJ would have DJ'ed in for the TD.

*sighs* Good lord. I think it had to be that. There's no other explanation. And Harley hustled his a-s off all game, I thought he was one of the few that played with some fire yesterday. So I just don't think Harley would have tapped out like that. And it was really him I was talking about. Watching it again, **EDIT** KJ ran off hard and he did look back. But Harley unquestionably jogged off the line and took his foot off the gas entirely before he could have known the Kosi had thrown. JT4 was not only blanketed by two guys, there was a LB between them (who is the one who knocked it down). If that playcall was a predetermined pass, then somehow I hate Enos even more now than I did last night, which I didn't think was possible.

Huh? Harley was utter trash. Spends more time running sideways than up the field. Let the DB undercut him on the first INT. Fumbled.

Yeah, true, both the back cut and letting that INT happen were really bad. He was the ONLY player on the entire offense that hustled back on one play though, which really caught my eye (and not in a good way). Though sh-t, maybe that's because it was THAT interception he was responsible for! lol

Intended pass to Thomas (I believe).. to the right of the end zone... it was blocked by their LB and Safety ..believe LB

DJ was open in the flat again. But the play was designed to go to the middle. Kosi stared it down. Post was dead before it started. Kosi for sure is better but he still has the flaws that lost him the job. However, with the offense calling not helping the QB and Defense not playing up to snuff id rather have Kosi out there to make plays

dj was wide open in the flat for an easy td. lb was too slow getting over there. Perry missed the easy read instead tried to throw into 3 defenders
This is the second year for that. Both JW and Perry lack certain field presence and secondary read ability. Both are traits Tate seems to excel at. He may lack some of the strength or zip on certain throws the other 2 have, but I would love to see him given a full live game chance.

It was very obvious we were getting another play. Before they cut away the announcers said "wait" so anybody watching would have gone to an app and seen 1 second remaining.

Wouldn't have mattered bubba woulda missed the xpa

I think we would have gone for 2. In fact, I was salivating at the prospect of that throughout the final drive, for Justin Fuente to lose as time expired, when all he had to do was kneel down a couple of times on the prior possession and kick a 20 yard field goal to win 38-35.

Anyway, the final play felt so anticlimactic. Players from both teams were onto the field after the prior play but it didn't take long for it to be obvious they were reviewing the situation and there could be another play. Both teams sensed it early because the Virginia Tech defense and Miami offense were already out there long before the official announcement was made regarding 1 more second.

For some reason the crowd wasn't nearly as excited as I expected. There was moderately loud reaction to our reprieve but when I looked at nearby fans everyone seemed to think it was an extension of the inevitable. Anticipation but little confidence.

Then that final play was so quick and pathetic it lent to virtually no reaction at all. Fans immediately picked up and filed out.

During the walk down the exit ramps the conversation centered on Baxa and how we would have won the game if he merely makes the extra point. I wasn't hearing a peep about that final play.
