Did COVID-19 Give Diaz A Pass?

If the product is the same. He done. The virus won’t even save him. Any improvement and he’s good. Even if it’s just a little. My opinion.

With the staff and personnel he has, there was almost no way that 2020 was going to be a bad season. 2021, on the other hand...

Ehhhh lol. Sh**ty coaches fail with good staff and personnel every year. I wouldn’t classify it as “no way”. Nothing is out of the realm of possibility after what we saw from this team last year.

Didn't we hit that brick wall in 2019?

Completely new offensive staff along with a quarterback who can make enough plays on talent alone. Combine that with possibly the weakest Coastal division in years and yes, I feel comfortable saying there was no way at all the Diaz would do bad enough to get fired in 2020.

No doubt. Though I think Enos --> Lashlee alone should make a world of difference. Then again, we all thought Enos was modernizing things and was a QB whisperer, so who the **** knows at this point.

We play Alabama next year, ****. I remember they scheduled that in 2017 and I was pumped, not so much anymore... if we don't improve dramatically they are going to do to us what they did to USC a few years ago opening week, ****

Agree. We’ll def be better but the notion that there’s no way we can have a bad season is just false. Diaz still has a ton to prove.

As far as Enos, man listen...NO ONE was more disappointed in him than me. He has ruined me and now even with Lashlee I will have to see it before I believe it.

The bar needs to be set higher. This team could go 9-3 and under preform. Nine wins with this schedule not a big accomplishment. We need to see improvement from this years team if they even play. Like less penalties, less mental mistakes actually show up prepared to play on game day.

Those idiots in the administration were not going to fire him this year anyway. He was getting 3 years regardless. Now they can install a 3 seat "social distancing" rule at the games to explain the attendance drop off. Now that I think of it, that might be use to explain and holes in the defense and space between pass and receivers.

Exact same for me, brother.

I don't care if this were the Spanish Flu. If this man goes 7-5 or whatever...he's gone.
Been Cane fan for long? Mark would have still been here had he not retired with class. Larry got fired for a fight with FIU not losing to them. Randy got the normal contract extension, like Larry, just before getting fired. Golden, well you might remember him. Greatest recruiting in history didn't get a decent contract extension offer so got NFL HC job instead. The UM Football was the greatest ever at one time but it had nothing to do with the administration of UM. That has sucked forever, before during and after our glory days. IF we get lucky, some bigger fools will hire Manny at end of year. He doesn't stay at jobs long.

That's a completely different discussion about whether he should get fired versus will get fired.
