Diaz will be on the sideline (OC Thomas Brown too)

Hey, remember that time Doritos decided he could be up in the booth because he had everything figured out?

Diaz, Brown To Be On Sidelines This Season

he Hurricanes released their weekly game notes in advance of Saturday's contest with Florida A&M at Hard Rock Stadium (6 p.m. ET, ESPN3) on Monday and Diaz was listed as a coach that would be on the sidelines along with offensive coordinator/running backs coach Thomas Brown.

Diaz coached down on the field when he was at Mississippi State and with three the Hurricanes expected to start three freshmen linebackers this season the move makes plenty of sense. Brown however was up in the box when he was at Georgia, which means that he'll now have to rely on quarterback coach Jon Richt to relay him information from a above.

Richt will be joined in the booth by cornerbacks coach Mike Rumph and tight end/special teams coach Todd Hartley, per the notes.

Miami had just one coach not on the field last season and that was defensive backs coach Paul Williams.

LSU's Les Miles revealed on Monday that he plans to have all of his full-time assistant coaches on the sidelines this season. He is believed to be one of the first head coaches to make that decision.

I'm not sure whether I prefer the coordinators in the booth or on the field...

If you have a veteran unit and someone downstairs who can communicate well with what's coming down from upstairs, that's my preference as you see more of what's going on.

When we have a bunch of young or inexperienced guys, a new defense, etc....the coach needs to be on the field.

I'm not sure there is evidence that one is better than the other.
There are really successful cordinators in the booth and on the sidelines.
It's more of a personal preference to them I would guess.

Cue this being the justification for our success or the glaring evidence of our downfall on every single play.

Hahaha. No worries on the later as it can be simply remedied by sending one or both up to the booth where they then can claim a better perspective and hence possible better results. What I'm truly concerned about is what color shoes Richt will be wearing on the sidelines.

Richt shouldn't wear shoes, IMO. Golden wore shores.

Haha. Barefoot corching.....still more refined than Ol Lester Miles eating grass from the field like some sort of inbred psychopath.

All I care about is watching our Dline crash the gaps, terrorize the other QB and create mayhem in his backfield instead of dancing backward into our secondary. Oh, and our brand new baby MLB laying out some WR coming over the middle a la Tamover.

All I care about is NOT seeing a clueless ******* guy wearing a tie on the sideline with his fat friend.... Anybody else is an upgrade..

nice. diaz will be able to look our freshman lb's in the eyes during games.
I think the DC is best served in the both, but under these Circumstances he needs to be able to put his hands on (3 the Hard way) as a matter of fact he may need to spend this season down there then in 2 years he will be able to call the defense from the Hard Rock Casino Floor if he choose to

I prefer us to ******* win. Don't give 2 fvcks where they sit/stand. Sit in the bleachers for all I care.

Maybe one of you mopes can provide a statistical analysis of win/loss records and their correlation with where a coach is during a game (on the field vs in the booth). Please factor in whether they are actually coaches (like we now have) or corches (what we have had). Also please include if they wear jorts or a fuggin tie vs wearing shorts or some other appropriate attire. Compare with what Saben and Myer do since they are the (cough***fug them*** cough) greatest to ever live.
