**** NO, the timimg has nothing to do with, ****'s on here were already in panic mode when the 2 gaytor tainted o-linemen decommitted. And many have not stop being in panic mode since the 4 game losing streak. This program has a real headcoach at the helm who knows what he is doing and is a straight shooter for the most part, at this stage of the program rebuild, he knows the next d-co hire will be important. I do know we'd get better linebacker play if coach shannon was brought in.

Because he's a real Miami guy who had real success. We were coming off D'Nofrio having seen some of the worst defenses ever and the guy had the number 2 overall defense this year so the fans give him credit for everything after we decided that it's Richt's fault we are losing games. Diaz is for real and he will definitely be missed, but he's not irreplaceable. I'm with you, but let's give Diaz his due for bringing Miami defense back to where it should be.
 
What would be funny is if coach richt hired ed reed or ray lewis to be the d-co, not sure how they would do, but it would be comical!

Make Rumph DB coach. Use the extra head count for a special teams guy or whatever.

The Washington defense got better when Kwiatkowski voluntarily gave up DC duties in order to keep Lake on staff. Lake’s next move will be to HC somewhere. Soon.

LOL same **** with Randy, a miami guy a bagman then when he took over he proceeded to do things his way. No one knew his way was take the names off the jerseys and not recruit well. U can always see a savage Coordinator but u never know what your getting when they take over. Its 2 totally different jobs man and hes too risky to hire to take over. They can find an attacking type coach but I dont trust MR to do anything cause hes buns sauce. May be a blessing in disguise and we can suck next year and start to staff turnover

Read somewhere that Zook may be an option at DC ... he's looking at coming back to the sunshine state
 
I don’t hate the idea of Ron Zook. He was the defensive coordinator for the saints before he took the Florida job, and he coaches special teams for the Packers right now.

Lord knows we need help on specials, and the man can recruit.

My only reservation is his age, and that I don’t believe NFL coaches always make the best college coaches.

There’s no chance South Florida college kids would be able to grasp the Saints defensive scheme IMO. He would need to significantly dumb it down, and its an open question whether he’s able to.

We don't need both. Manny wanted both. The new DC may not. Richt won't have any say besides the actual DC hire. Manny ran the show on that side. For him it made sense because his defense asks a lot of the safeties.

Uh.......have you seen Saban on the sidelines? Richt usually has no emotions. Saban on the other hand if irritable at the first sign of a blown assignment, lack of effort, etc...

Saban shows plenty of emotion. Problem is, more often than not, it's chewing someone out. Having said that, with his record of success, he can get away with it.

Really what does anyone's feelings about Manny have to do with their feelings about Richt?

You can like one or the other, hate both or like both.

This board is so fickle...Manny had a good year this year....I remember many times when he couldn't buy a friend here.

Now suddenly he's indespencible??

NO ONE is indespencible. We survived losing Schnelly, JJ and Butch...Diaz isn't even in the same ballpark as any of them as far as importance to the program

How many yearly losing streaks of 3+ games will it take before you stop using the term "real head coach"?

Richt isn't in a rebuilding stage, it's a salvage stage.
