Diaz is supposedly a top candidate for Miss State job

This is not true. Todd Monken, Tampa Bay Bucs OC is the top guy for that job and will probably get it.

That one makes sense.
Mississippi State is never going to have more talent than Alabama, LSU,etc, so they need to stick with hiring offensive
minded coaches.

Jeremy pruitt(Bama dc) looks like hes their top candidate

Third time I'll say this - it will be incredibly difficult to pull Diaz away from Miami at this point.

This isn't a money issue - there are some things that Miami provides for Diaz and his family that no other team in the country can or will be able to provide.

I believe that 100%. I just know how the game is. If Diaz is making somewhere between 800k and 1.1 mil a year from UM, and Mississippi State offers 4.2 million it's just not much of a decision.

If you coach at one of these bigtime places for 2-3 years, especially one in a low cost of living area, your family is set for life. Mullen hated the **** out of Gainesville. For a couple extra million a year, you'd be amazed what people will put up with.
to be completely honest 1.1 to live in miami vs 4.2 to live in mississippi, if i'm diaz i'm staying in miami. money ain't everything and he can stick around until richt retires and be the next head coach.

Likely they will want the Ohio State guy first, but for Diaz it would be hard to pass up HC salary vs what UM pays its asst. coaches.

Diaz isn't ready to be a head coach at a Power 5 school. Similarly, Mr. ONION HEAD wasn't ready to be a head coach at his alma mater. hUh.:puzzled:

Not saying it won't be the case but current articles like this are just parroting Feldman's tweet and Feldman is a Miami guy so of course he was going to throw Diaz's name out there immediately.

I love Diaz, but I would love to play more fundamentally sound defense.

You can play an aggressive 1 gap system without giving up as many yards as we do, or over pursuing QBs, losing TOP, etc. Diaz's scheme is feast or famine. It's an aggressive bend don't break defense.

Diaz doesn't mind giving up 1st downs, as long as he gets TFLs/sacks and doesn't give up long TDs. Notice we don't force a lot of 3 and outs. Hardly ever actually.

I'd love to see a 4-2-5 guy here at Miami. Similar to Bud Foster.

I'd be cool with that. we're 41st in the nation in defense. Miami is supposed to be top 10

man it hurts my head when posters are this clueless

I mean its a fact that we are 41st in total D.

true, but saying diaz can leave because of total yardage against is the dumbest sh*t i have ever heard

what about being top 15 in defensive efficiency and opponent completion percentage?

#1 in takeaways?

#1 in sacks per game

#2 in TFL (#1 in power five teams)

top 10-15 in yards per play allowed.

but yea let's diaz go because we're 41st in literally the metric that matters least
