If you can't tell Diaz is planning ahead. Hes thinking what will make the team elite in two years not what will make the team good this year.
What gets players good is working and EXPERIENCE!
Hes playing Scaife at guard when he could play tackle WAY better than campbell or Zion. Why? Because to get good you need to get hammered and learn from it. In two years He wants a RS junior and Junior tackle who have been through it all. Our interior O line has two sophmores who will be here in two years.
Those guys should be pretty **** good in two years if he keeps em in the fire
He thrusts Jarren as a freshman in there knowing he will have growing pains. Why? Because hes the best QB. But also in two years when hes experienced he can be an elite college QB with a very good O line.
He knows no matter what he does we can't win big this year. He is willing to use this year and maybe even next as developmental years. He would rather throw young players with potential in the fire at the biggest stage instead of temporary fixes who would perform better.
At the end of the day he will say all he wants but he doesnt give a fuq about this year. Coaches get credit for what they do two or three years after they get hired not the previous coaches team.
