2026 Dia Bell QB from Heritage (Raja's Son) Commits to Texas

You're right, I am on this hill alone, cause I'm the only one here who's coached against the kid(s). 🤷🏻‍♂️

We can revisit this all you want. We're not talking about college, we're talking about right now.

How are yall gonna disagree with a guy who's game-planned and played against a kid 3 years in a row?
🤷‍♂️

So this guy is Football Jesus in here now?

I’d love for someone to post that kids performances against any team of their choice.

This guy is a sub 60% passer in high school. And that’s with a steady diet of screens and hitches that he can’t complete.

except he's not.

also fwiw, in a 3 game stretch vs Milton, Western, Chaminade + 3 games in 6 weeks vs Central, Norland and St Thomas Aquinas:
103/144 (~72%) 1564 yards- 17TDs/0INTs
50 rushes- 441 yards- 5 TDs

The kid is good, he possesses all the tools to be good at the college level if developed correctly, he’s just not a 5 star in the same vain as a Trevor Lawrence which is fine most kids aren’t, Neimann Lawrence is the best QB prospect overall down here in my eyes regardless of grade

You went way to high with Lawrence.......

hes somewhere between a floor of jacory harris and a high of Jacoby Brissett.

I watch him very very often. When things are bad he sits alone and pouts. He doesn't engage or rally his team, it was very apparent the first half Friday night. As soon as things go right hes all in. Hes an incredible talent no doubt.

Ok.

What games have you been to that he’s even been “very good”.

You and Macho are basically describing Kyle Wright. Guy looked great in shorts, but can’t do it in real action.

You pulled out a "shorts" comment to someone who literally coaches and schemes against him for actual football games and NOT 7on7?

Very impressive if accurate

Yes i did.

I’ve seen him play at least 9-10 times in real football games the last two years and he looks like **** each time.

It seems like we have all of the excuses lined up in this chat, so feel free to take a look.

My opinion is that this guy processes what he sees on the field at a poor level. It doesn’t matter how smooth or fast he is, the decisions he makes are LATE (not bad).

Macho obviously knows more about football than 99% of the people on CIS, but his reason for preferring Bell over Nickel is what Bell does when he is “off script”. My issue with that is maybe Bell is off script as much as he is because he is processing plays slowly and is forced to be off script. We see this all the time with QB’s who make highlight plays in part because they have to.

Having watched Nickel play 5 times over 2 seasons, I saw a guy who processed information extremely fast and rarely needed to be off script. Hence he may not have made as many “wow” plays, but it seems like the ball was always out of his hand on time and to the correct receiver. This is the QB I want.

this is some of exactly what took place last week in Bells game. He int he 2nd half scrambled a bit more precisely and knocked down a few good passes and they ended up pulling the w out behind the running game, special teams blunder, and their defense completely shutting down st joes.

He was without his #1 wr for the game though int he fsu commit. But he looked pedestrian and cost the team 2 tds with his costly fumbles on sacks. Showed some perseverance 2nd half.

I don

I don’t see how this recipe will work in college, and certainly not in the NFL. This has a Johnny Manziel feel to it.

Dodged a bullet with this kid. Dereon is the real deal with a very good football iq.

Hope Dia does well elsewhere, but I personally don’t see any justification for the hype behind this kid.

Not good. He can’t make it through a high school season (2 to be exact), but he’s going to be fine with college athletes hitting him? Not a recipe for success.

Based on only two games watching him on TV, I didn’t think he was very good. Maybe he lit it up in other games? Anyway, with the injury history, I doubt he’s a Longhorn for very long.
