This is so stupid. Every position coach wants to go to the league.
It’s a failure if he goes to Eugene. It doesn’t matter if the rumors of your coach leaving are true or not; you shouldn’t have allowed that to be the narrative.

@DMoney

Are we getting outbid on all these safeties? Is it a matter of not valuing the position enough? Not knowing where we stand with a kid?

To go 0-for at this position so far (And obviously it hasn't happened yet) after being thought a close leader for Stewart, a definite leader for D.Jax, and in the game (knew it would be tough pull) for T.Green…While all the while seeming to have Redding on the back burner… Is quite the downer. Any input on what happened here and where they are going with safety recruiting?

Honestly, I'm tired of our "insider" influencers hyping the staff for going into midwest or SEC terratory with big pulls, when we are getting pilaged in our own backyard. Let's at least aknowledge we're at best a draw, probably a net loss.

How TF mario let this happen?
I'm just going to post this one more time as I have direct info from his family. Oregon offered way more NIL than what he was offered by Miami. Miami did not match the offer and the situation was finished. This has nothing to do with coaches or recruiting effort or any of this nonsense that most here keep repeating. The person that recruited him the hardest is currently now on our staff.
Devin was even prepared to go back to UF if they offered more than Oregon.
This was highest bidder with the win and nothing more.
Based on what high school he plays at and the situation that led most of the top prospects there, this should not be a surprise to anyone. There are other recruiting misses that you can fault Mario and staff for over the last few years, but this is not one of them.
If Devin flips anywhere late in the process, you will know exactly why. I'm not saying he is wrong to do it, just this is the reality of this recruitment.
