Hope Canes staff will keep in contact with him if he gets academics up....He'll play professional football one day..

He's gotta be almost 21 by now. Coulda used him this year. I just don't understand how a kid that talented doesn't find a way to make it work in the classroom. Its not like he can't tell how much its ****ed his **** up.

Blame the school system in Texas , but happy for him that he'll get a chance to go to school and play ball.

All he needs is one year and he's probably off to the NFL imo. Glad he's at least doing something with his talent even though it's not here.

Are you kidding? I swear some people are ******* retarded. Thousands of kids can qualify for college each year...but this kid doesn't and its "blame the school system". Same thing with south FL. No **** accountability. Always wanting to blame someone else. Put your **** big boy pants on and take care of business yourself.

Our country is full of people like this...that's a huge problem.

He will be 22 yrs old and 3 yrs removed from high school next September. Kid will probably go straight to NFL and ball within a few yrs. Sad to think we could've had a 20 yr old (or 21 yr old true freshman after prep) if he would've just got his **** together!

Before anyone criticizes Griffin, remember that his mom went to prison when he was 9 and his great-grandma raised him and his siblings from that point on.

The fact he's in college now, is an accomplishment in itself considering what he's gone through.

Everyone has a different story and set of circumstances. And yes, if he was in different school system, he may as well have qualified.

Say what?

great grandma. That's how far down the family tree they had to go to find someone capable of taking care of him. Coming from that, and not being a gang banger or in jail is a major accomplishment in and of itself.

Wishing this kid the best, he's overcome a ton.
