It’s funny seeing them lump in Texas and Oregon here as programs that “actually win.”

Texas has been an overall disappointment until the last two years. Sarkisian finally broke out in year 3, similar to Mario. Albeit he had a better year 3 but both coaches have had very similar trajectories.

And then mentioning Oregon as if Mario wasn’t the coach that turned them around and helped give Lanning a solid foundation to continue to build off of.

Y'all don't wanna hear this but both those programs made the playoffs last year. Miami did not. I'll just leave it at that.
 
I don’t know what is more stupid, the comment from the people on the Georgia site, or people thinking the NC2A clearinghouse for NIL deals will stand up to challenges in court. Sorry but courts are not going to allow a group of people sitting in a room to determine whether a player’s NIL deal meets their definition of “fair market value”. This, like so many other idiotic NC2A ideas, will crumble the first time it is contested.

None of this will stand up in court unless and until the players are unionized and are collectively bargaining with the NC2A. I don’t know when that organization and its useless attorneys will understand this, but until they do, they will keep taking losses and Darren Heitner and the people advocating cases against the NC2A will keep making lots of money.

Yep. Now they seem to care about how much money players are receiving. When they were the highest bidder it was all just par for the course.

UGA offered the son of a close friend 100k back in 2019 to sign. Back then that was big money.

TAMU’s Jimbo Fisher directly offered money to the father of a player. The father is another close friend.

I can’t help but add to the Jimbo story.. He was in my buddy’s living room in a house that costs at least a million dollars, and offered $1000/month. My buddy was like ‘we aren’t picking a college for $1000/month’. Jimbo thanked him for his honesty and then told him, ‘you would be surprised how many people accept that deal’. The coaches, schools and NC2A were completely getting over on the players. I hope the current players get every possible cent.

NO ONE CARED until now. Hypocrites.

For this reason and so many others we can list, a committee deciding FMV is so stupid.

This is like trying to determine FMV of artwork. It is completely in the eye of the beholder. Jojo Trader’s autograph maybe worth $20 to person A, and $200 to person B who is a Canes fan. Or $2000 to person C who is betting that Trader will be an NFL All-Pro one day and the autograph will increase in value. No one can look at those 3 examples and objectively determine FMV, and expect that a court will agree when the lawsuit comes.

It is laughable that the NC2A thinks this has any chance of succeeding. I really should be in the business of suing the NC2A. It is the gift that keeps on giving to lawyers.

The Bank is back open. Here's the latest as Miami heads into its final official visit weekend:

- The Canes have made progress with several key targets. I like Miami for Top 10 DT James Johnson (Northwestern). War daddy DTs are the most valuable commodity in college football and Johnson would be a hugely impactful addition.

- I also like Miami for Top 10 TE Israel Briggs (Visalia, CA). While LSU's mods questioned whether he would play WR or TE, I'm told the staff is comfortable with his frame as a detached TE in our offense. He announces next Tuesday.
