D'Eriq King to XFL

Seems like there’s a new football league opening and another going out of business every year.

Meanwhile minor league baseball goes strong and do you know why? Because they set up in minor league cities with no major league competition.

What kills these B-League football leagues is they always try to set up teams in Dallas, NYC, etc. Nobody in those places gives a **** about the lesser league, they watch NFL.

But the people making these dumb business decisions are the same type of state school, manage-by-a-speadsheet dip****s who talk about “media markets” and “growth opportunities” and it’s the same dip**** logic that brings a school like Rutgers to the BIG 10, because “NYC market, bro.” Meanwhile, NYC doesn’t give any ***** about Rutgers, and Dallas doesn’t give a **** about minor league XFL.

Not everyone went to Yale like I did, but the way these people squander millions is just hilarious. Dumb business decisions.

Go where there is no competition, focus on having a good product, and the money will take care of itself.

Maybe its just me, but the cost-benefit of playing in these leagues ain't it. When you see Demaryius Thomas leave this world early and when they crack open his skull find a ton of golf ball sized holes in his brain...man, why you wanna do that to yourself in front of nobody in a league no one gives a **** about for meh wages?

Boy I hope he shows up big time and gets picked up by the NFL as a slot receiver and makes a legit salary. The XFL base salary is $27,000 and there are a couple of bonuses if you start every game and play in every game. Total salary ranges from $45 - 66K.

They should demand commensurate value in Teremana tequila to get over the six figure mark.

You’re right sort of… yes major cities have more competition for entertainment. However minor-league baseball thrives because it was built into the sport. Football and basketball weren’t built with minor leagues they were built with college version.
